I'm looking for the smallest possible available cell phone that I can take with me when I'm running.

Its mainly for safety.

I don't care about surfing the web, taking photos, fancy schmancy applications, music, or even chatting to people.

It just needs to be small and light and capable of calling the fuzz.

Any ideas?

Well, I chose this phone because it was wee and on sale for a price I cannot recall. It's a Nokia Xpress Music. I didn't care about the music feature. I take it running. This picture is deceptively big:

I have been thinking about this too. I dont run alone that often, but it wouldn't hurt to carry a phone...I was thinking of going with one of those phones where you pay as you go. maybe get $20 worth of minutes and hopefully never need to use them.

If you watch the T mobile promotions you can often find their pay as you go phones for $19.99 with $25 worth of prepaid minutes included. Hard to beat and the clam phones are about as small as anything on the market.

Trac Fone has a number of sub 3 oz. models. Like this one at 2.29 oz...

DW has a similar one and it's pretty tiny. We pay $20 for 90 days of service.
