I never went "Yankee Lite " as youso aptly put it. Theo E canmove on. I suspect he is the reason for the current sproled frat boy attitude in the clubhouse. WIsh Terry Francona had stuck it out. I still think he is good - when he is in charge and not handcuffed. It was such an odd season - he left bad ptiching in so many times that there had to be something more to it all. This was the first year without Pitching Coach Jim Farrel- who I never really liked.. yet maybe it was he who was the glue and the command with the pitchers.

Well if for anything else, next season will be interesting - This one wa sbeyond painful! ( I had more fun watchng the Sox in the 70's when they lost ALL the time than this year!)

Although I'm a Phillies fan, since I'm born, bred, raised, and still live down here, I have always had a soft spot for the Sox. And, for both reasons, I have always hated the Yankees. Not that we saw either of them much, especially before inter-league play started.

I loved Ken Burn's documentary on baseball. One woman, who lived in the Boston area, was talking about her little boy being so into the Sox, and they were getting close (this was the infamous Bill Bruckner year) and was talking about winning the World Series, and the woman said (paraphrased) "I was struggling with how to impart this wisdom to my child that the Red Sox were NOT going to win".

Made me laugh.

But, they did win a years later. Which is why baseball is so cool.
