Thursday... Turkey Day Thread

G'day.
 
Apparently I am now "Uncle Grizzly" on Facebook. 
 
At any rate, made it in for my first run to work in ages. Good pace, not so good footing. The collapse of the Chinook brought freezing rain and then snow over that. Slip sliding away...
 
Took the shortest possible safe route in and made a little over 6.5 miles in great pace.

Oh our winter last year started with freezing rain and then snow. It meant slick driving and walking for the entire season. Normally dry roads were still slick even in January and my normally easy to handle, good on ice Subaru had one moment that scared the living daylights out of me.

Interview is tomorrow morning. I am relaxed, but tonight I will toss and turn coming up with the answers to possible questions. My collective family is small and mostly hate each other, so the biggest turkey day crowd I've been apart of was around 6-7 strong. Today we're hanging out with a few million of Nadra's relatives. I hope they don't eat me for dessert. Regular day here. No family close by and DH has to work, so nothing turkey dayish going on here. We did go out to dinner last night though.

1. I don't do prayers OR desserts. 
2. You're a freaky hoarder, and I refuse to set foot in your filthy house.

Hello Everyone! 
Job vibes are sent! 
Grizz, nice run! 
As for me... I think I must be bi-polar or something. I'd been down in the dumps until I had a good weekend in Knoxville last weekend with a friend. Went out with another friend last night and had a good time again.... then this morning.... 
OMG, my friend, Mike is in town for TDay and took me to a gym this morning for a workout... then he took me to meet the world's strongest woman and her husband who own a gym here. She taught me to benchpress! HOLY CRAP! I learned to benchpress from Laura Phelps! That's a big deal! 
I had benched 45 lbs as a max in college and hated it and it hurt. Laura and Shane got me up to 75lbs in an hour. With correct form. And it was FUN! 
Now I'm getting cleaned up to join Mike and his family for the feeding of the face. <img alt="smile.gif" class="bbcode_smiley" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/smile.gif"> 
I'm so blessed to have a wonderful supportive family and the best friends anyone could ever ask for... who love me as I am, with ALL my flaws and challenge me to be a better me every single day. So very, very blessed.

Cool strength story, Jenna! 
Enjoy the time with family and friends. 
I'm done prepping stuff to haul to mom's for our evening meal. 
DH is busy putting up the holiday lights. 
The Packers' defense looks like a sieve. 
I've chatted with my MIL, who we will visit with tomorrow. 
Youngest Troll just called. Great to hear from him! He told us the most hilarious (to the staff, not the patient) ER story from last night's shift about someone with something stuck somewhere...And how they all kept straight faces/remained professional throughout the ordeal. <img alt="rolleyes.gif" class="bbcode_smiley" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/rolleyes.gif">

Watching mr. Porty attempting to string lights on the giant birch tree out front is whey more entertaining than was the first half of the Packer game.

Zoe had a great kid's race and i am devestated that the video on my phone malfunctioned because i was crying tears of joy watching her run and all the people cheering her and how happy she was. She got a finisher's medal too

And the 5K went well and I ran with a friend and her 11 month old in her jogger.
 
Vegan pumpkin cheesecake in the oven, we leave for dinner in an hour at the vegan restaurant. Gotta nap before hitting Kohls and maybe Target. eeek. I did get my $8 crock pot at CVS

I'm checking in late ..almost black Friday if you are into that.
 
 It was just us today my two kids and husband but it turned out to be a good day. DS did not do his usual Turkey Trot.. so we all watched the parades on TV then shoved the bird in the oven. DD stayed home to keep an eye on the oven.. and DS, DH, myself and Louie went on a hike up to the fire tower in the state park. Chilly, with a crust of snow and a glowery sky up there but it was a great way to spend the afternoon. When we got back the turkey was perfect and dinner was great.
 Here I am with the Louie dog.. and really poofy wierd hair! ( and no, I am NOT choking the dog .. I was holsing him still.. gently. There are a lot of smells for a dog up there ! )
