Heading over to La Crosse after school...I am so excited for this. I thought State was the awesomest thing after going to watch last year. I can't believe I'm in it though!

Oh ya WTPJ - Look for the hot young stud from Pittsville. Oh okay more specific?

I'll most likely have a long-sleeved blue shirt. When are you gonna be there..Friday or Saturday? Hopefully you haven't left quite yet and can see this...

Have an awesome day!

Have fun Alex! That's what it's all about.

I ran 10 miles outside in the muggiest conditions I've faced this year (67°F with 94% relative humidity). I can't imagine how much water weight I lost during this run. When I was finished, my thighs were totally white from the salt that was running down my legs. That doesn't happen very often.

May Miles: 272.8
YTD Miles: 1,069 (almost 73 miles ahead of last year)

Much cooler air tonight with cloudy skies. A nice relaxed pace. The legs were definitely tired.

Sore throat is still there. Not quite as bad though.

Run Segments
I'm going to have to sit down and verify these numbers folks. The mileage numbers seem to be very high.

Tonight's run: 82F, overcast, with light breeze. Not as hot as last week.

Ready. That's how I feel after this run.

Got a call from my training partner at 3pm. She cancelled. Since most locals are waay past marathon season, I had no takers to join me on my peak tempo-paced run of the season.

The last three weeks I've progressed from 6mi two weeks ago, to 7mi last week, and had 7.5mi of T-pace on the schedule for tonight.

11.5 miles total
3.0 mi warm-up
7.5 mi @ T-pace (5x 1.5mi; with 2min recoveries) (Ave 6:41 pace)
1.0 mi cool-down

A little warm tonight, and with no partner to chase, it was going to be tough. The workout was a Daniels-style "Cruise Interval" workout. I took it one interval at a time and by the time I hit #4, there was no stopping me. I just keep on believing that this workout was making me tougher than ever.

Very pleased with the self-determination to do this workout solo. This was my longest volume of T-pace in one session. 50 minutes of T.

The only downside to tonight is that during interval #5, I developed a pain on the top of left foot in the usual area of a stress fracture. Cut the cool-down short. I'll take it real easy this weekend.

I'm ready. My race is in 16 days and I am confident that I need do no more. Sure, I will keep training...but after tonight's solo Tempo run, I have a confidence that I can fight through the will to give in.

Good luck, Alex.
