Buenas Dias! I did not beat the rain this morning, but thankfully I didn't have to do my running in the AM. It was off to the pool at 4:30AM this morning.

AM: 5:15AM and I was swimming, the first time in about a week that I was able to get in a full session, 3,400m. I felt pretty good, but I did tire a little bit at the end of the main set, the result of my really trying to push it. It may sound stupid but I was really happy with my cool down (300m), I swam relaxed and easy and did it in 6:08. That is a good sign for my upcoming HIM distance race and IMAZ.

500m wu, 4 x 100m drills, 6 x (50m+100m+150m) @20sec, 8 x 50m drills, 300m cd

PM: After work, I have to drop my daughter off at her Brownie meeting, then I am going to be spinning in my basement for 1.5 hours, hopefully watching the IM Louisville coverage that I DVR'd (gotta love Bree Wee). Thinks are getting back to normal.

Hope everyone's day is filled with rainbows....heck with all of the rain here on the east coast, there is bound to be a rainbow at some point one would think.

[Corrected my not so good grammar. Thanks Mister BANNON!]

2500yd straight swim for me this morning. Felt like I was taking it easy, but times were much faster than normal. Broken down by 500's, it went as follows. Must be some frustration energy in there.

7:22.73

7:28.59

7:30.00

7:29.34

7:29.01 for a grand total of: 37:19.67

Rest day for me. And as usual when I take an easy week, my body (specifically the hips, in this case) is unhappy about it. Crazy.

while we beat the rain this morning it did not feel like we did since it was so muggy. 4+ miler from the Y. When we stopped to drop one of the group off she looked at her watch and it dawned on her why it was a tougher run as we were faster than normal. we had not even realize that we had been pushing the pace.

DD says she sees Thor on the roads so I told her to beep to him and she said no. Have to teach her the friendly beep beep and told her that he enjoys it, espically when it is a trash truck.

I had a nice ride this morning of 26+ miles. My buddy hit the expansion joint in the bridge and blew out his tire and put a flat spot in his rim. I guess it is a good thing to have training wheels so it won't be too expensive to get a new wheel. It could have been a whole lot worse.

I'll do something today...it may just be core work though, unless you count MAJOR housecleaning. The dog and cat have become infested with fleas so DH and I are in a frenzy trying to get rid of the stupid parasites. Vacuuming everything daily and doing obscene amounts of laundry. Poor fur kids.

On an even suckier note, found out when I came in today that a student committed suicide. I didn't know him, but the whole thing is just tragic.

Sorry to hear about the student, it is so sad to hear about such a loss. My prayers go out to the family and friends.

Nice... I love when women honk at me. No harm there.

Does she normally see me when I'm running with others or out solo? If I know the car/van to look for, I could spot her. I have a loop that I've been doing on Friday's (though I am done with that workout probably for the season) where I go down Haverhill, around the lake, and back on Haverhill. I see the same people (them in cars) each time because I leave at the same hour. So I have people (like Frank R., Bob S., Lori T., Steve, etc) who see me each time. Most are good about the honking, as they are all runners themselves. I know where to look for each of them. Kind of funny.

1 hour ride at lunch today - didn't get wet, but sure was windy out!! Managed to not get pelted with acorns either!

Good afternoon,

We had torrential rain here and it took me 1 hour 47 minutes to get into work today (usually 30-40 mins). When I got in, I heard there was a fatality further down on the same road I travel. Then I felt insensitive about complaining about how long I had been in the car (with a full bladder, no less).

Obviously that put the kabosh on my morning workout plans. It's really something here - like the end of the world - heavy rain, wind whipping around, flooding all over. I'm going home a little early and will snuggle up with my dogs today, and start fresh tomorrow.

Sparty, do you use Frontline Plus? It has worked great for us with our animals. GL getting rid of the fleas; they're such nasty critters. And so sorry to hear about the student suicide; seems to always happen around exam time. Truly depressing.
