Spinning class early this morning, so far.

On deck: teaching two yoga classes, taking pilates class, easy 5 mile run.

My legs are still somewhat sore from Monday. Clearly my muscles found out what they've been missing -- 400 repeats.

SGH: You're an inspiration!

4.5 hilly miles. Speed is slowly improving but I'm not about to push it too much yet. No repeats for me for a bit.

a night race eh? what's the distance? I ran an evening race once upon a time, in Seattle. The Torchlight Parade race as part of the Seafair event. I think that was July or August - so it was fairly warm, even in Seattle. I much prefer morning races on an almost empty stomach, not to mention cooler temps. But evening races can be fun and special too! Have fun!

oh, no run for me today. I did 5.5 miles last night at the gym, 3.25 Tuesday, and will do about 3.5 miles tomorrow and then 12-13 on Saturday.

6 miles yesterday evening in 1:04:06, but I stopped to re-tie a shoe in the first mile, so maybe a wee bit faster

I haven't checked in one of these threads for a while.

Grizzly, sounds like you are doing quite well in your comeback.

SGH, you amaze me with all you do.

Sparky, someday I want to be able to run as fast as you.

Good luck with the race, Alex.

Tamster, we can be long run buddies. I'm slated to do a 12 mile run this weekend. I don't have anyone to run it with so I'm about that. I'm psyching myself up to it, though.

you can do it Ginger! This time I am running with someone, so that'll be nice and hopefully make the 12-13 miles seems quicker. I did 11.2 last Saturday, alone, and it seemed like SUCH.A.LONG.TIME. I won't wear my music when running outdoors and you can only talk to yourself for so long before you wanna tell yourself to shuddup!

Make sure you come back and report your long run! I wanna read how you did!

Yeah, it's the boredom factor that gets to me, too. I don't do headphones either. I will most likely go early in the morning (less traffic) and where I live there's not much around for distraction. Except maybe the bears. On my last 10 mile run I counted cars that passed me. There were 25 over the course of that 1 hour 50 minute run. So, yeah, you could say it was dull.

I'm already prepping myself thinking of how far out I have to run, and where I turn around and the fact that once I get back to the house I only have to run 3 more miles and they're mostly downhill, etc.

I'll report back. I'm glad you have company for your run. It makes the time pass so much faster!

Why don't you meet me in Waitsfield this Sunday for an 8 mile race? It's 99% meadows, wide trails and dirt road (one hill, the rest mostly flat). Very scenic, good food and great free prizes afterwards.

http://www.madriverpath.com/dash.php

6.2 EZ for me today.

Had a great race tonight...seeing all my buds from running camp this summer really pumped me up and I ran with them. First mile 5:28...probably too fast but I'm in a good spot, like 7th place. About half mile later, the kid who got 2nd to my 3rd last week gets passed by ME. I blow by him and work on reeling in the other teams 5th runner who is in 5th place. I never really gain any more groun on him until the finish. 6th place to a team who perfect scored the meet, but being the D2 powerhouse that they are (made it to State as a team last year and lost no runners, plus tonight they had their top 5 all under 18 minutes), I feel I did quite well. Cool thing is, I still got a medal. Last year I nabbed 5th place for a medal but this year they went to top 10 so I still got some flashy hardware! Final time for me was 18:03, and that's good enough for now...but in a few weeks it'll be a whole different story.

Tamster I'm in high school cross country so our races are 5k and sadly they are always evening or late afternoon, except for Sectionals and State.

Another fab weather day: Sunny 80F at 6:30p

13 miles total. First 8 at easy pace with running bud. Next 3 at T-pace (2x 1.5mi ; with 2 min recovery.) Cooled down 2 miles.

Tempo was uninspired: ave T= 6:34. Probably b/c warmed up too long? Easy pace between 8:10-8:30.

Ooo! Then I could just do the extra 4 before, maybe, as warm up or 2 pre and 2 post race...
