Morning, folks!

I didn't make it in here yesterday b/c I was busy. But great job, Duck, on Boston! Sounds like a great trip and great experience. I had EXACTLY the same thing happen with me just before the finish (right calf seized up). Fortunately after a couple steps it went away for me too. Although you finished a couple minutes faster than me and ran a smarter race. :)

BOB - supah excited for your race. Any updates on the weather? After some crappy cold snowy rainy days here, the sun is finally shining.

I have 8 with 3 x 1 mile repeats tonight. Was supposed to do it yesterday, but was super busy at work and then opted to go to happy hour with DH instead.

Good news: already lost another pound this week. I love that about taper. Why is it that I always drop 2-3 lbs just by cutting back on mileage? Anyone know? I still eat the same....

Oh, and last question: are you feeling better Timr? I still have a head cold, but I am hoping it leaves soon.

EDITED TO ADD: Already checking the weather reports for Eugene. It is way too early, but I can, so I am. :)

Yeah, it's a loop course. So I suppose you guys are right. The 50 milers and 100k-ers will be doing a ton of loops, so I can see where it would be nice for those people to have easy access to some stuff like food or change of clothes, etc. I wasn't thinking that I'd need any of that for a 50k, so it really hadn't crossed my mind. Well, I'll find out soon. 48 hours from now, I oughtta be done with the stupid thing...

Ha! I just looked at mine on marathonfoto for the first time. I had forgotten that late in the race when I decided to run the rest of the way I flipped my hat around - Rally Hat!!!!!

Butler - 11140 if you want to see them.
That's only because I hang out with 2 guys with even weaker guns than me...after we ran through that photo station I just kept saying "Jesus, we're pathetic!"

I made an executive decision. After lunch I drove home and packed my running gear and brought it to work. At 5 I am going to go knock out my scheduled 2 miler (instead of skipping it and doing it tomorrow). I have felt so blah all day long. Maybe the run will snap me out of the mood. There is a nice refreshing misty rain out there now at 60 degrees. I bet it would actually feel really good!

I find that when I am tired and blah a run will be the best thing I can do to get out of it!! Good Run!

Thank you

Love the pic, PC!

5.5 easy miles this morning and then I spent the middle part of the day under the 7 Mile Bridge trying to catch some fish. There were a bunch of tarpon jumping, but they won today. So I came home and caught a snapper off the dock. Lunch!

ETA: almost forgot! Duck! Loved the race report!

Phew. Just got back from the run. Super conditions but I simply have no energy when I run after work. I figure it is probably because of my horrible diet. However my legs, specifically my knees, felt good. Normally when I run after work my knees just bail on me from the start. That was encouraging. Despite the great cool weather and the short distance I was taxed a bit. Again probably due to low energy. I was sweating more than a 5 miler for me. Oh well. It's done. It's in the books and I am glad I didn't wimp out and skip running today. Gotta win these little battles if I want to get better.
