BBS--what is it with you boys wanting to jump and hop on the treadmill?!

I've been laid flat with a killer cold. Coughing up chunks of lung and just plain can't breathe. Hopefully this is one of those fast moving bugs! No workouts for me today!

good morning. I got out for a sluggish 5 miles. It is in the books.

4BM- I hope you get better soon.

BBS- Have fun hopping on the treadmill. Running on it does sound so much easier though.

I just realized that I'm running a marathon on Saturday. Crap... better get in a 20 miler to prep for that Rest day first. The temps are getting lower. Now it's 26F with a wind chill of 20F at the start, rising to low 30s by the time I expect to finish.

BBS - your run is just a hop, skip and a jump away.

4boysmom - I once saw a women dancing on a treadmill at the gym - you gals are crazy. Hope you feel better soon.

kfuller - 5 is 5. Good job getting out there.

Morning all,

I'm at work but my head's already in Manhattan.

Not much planned for today, probably a little elliptical session at home this evening, 30 minutes or so. I ran 4 on the home TM (no hopping) last night, w/ the middle 2 at MP; actually it was a little faster than what I probably should be running for much of Sunday. Largely out of habit, I ran "MP" on the treadmill at 8.3 mph, or a 7:13/mile pace. That's in line with my usual max goal of running a 3:10. But on Sunday I really want to be going about 3:20 pace for the the first 15, which is more like 7:40/mile. So it should feel easy compared to last night...with room to step it up if I'm feeling good at 15.

It's a different approach than I've tried in previous marathons...but maybe this one will get me off that 3:20 plateau I seem to be stuck on (I've run 3:21 twice, 3:20 once).

BBS - have a good 3

4bm - ugh, chest colds suck. Yuck.

kevin - good job getting it done

RA - brrrr!!! I really need to start paying attention to Big Apple weather and probably pack multiple race day gear options tonight. I have a feeling it will be chilly Sunday morning in NYC too, though maybe not quite as cold as Indy.

I am taking the day off or maybe just an off day. Maybe I should do a choreographed treadmill routine. I did make it to some wobbly yoga yesterday. Feel better 4boys and hope you racers are gearing up for the weekend.
