Good Morning,

Late start to my day. But since it is raining and yucky out I will be skipping my run for the day. I will be playing indoor soccer tonight though.

Good morning. Up early to hopefully sneak a run in and watch this week's Biggest Loser. My friend is coming over with her daughter for a play date this morning, so after running, i need to do a mad fast cleaning! Then off to work.

Good morning! We got a couple of inches of snow, so the whole city is shut down. School and daycare are closed, so I am trying to figure out who can keep my kids today, or if I need to bring them to court with me. Maybe they could sit at the defense table and make it look my my clients have a big legal team. :)

I felt much better [stronger] this morn, so went downstairs to the portytorturechamber to hoist weights.

I wanted to go heavy on the barbell bench press; but since I had no spotter, I had to top out 2 sets/each 9 reps at 72 pounds.

Good morning. 21 here this morning with a high of 42. We may see 50 on Saturday!! I would normally run at lunch time but my achilles tendon has decided to go on strike. So I'm off to the doc instead. I'm hoping to get a referral to a podiatrist as the physical therapy didn't fix it up. I wonder some times at what point do I find something else for exercise? But I can't imagine not running either. It seems as if I'm good for 6 months and then break down. Weird. Anyway, this too shall pass.

Porty - you are amazing, 72 pounds is rocking on a bench press! You must have guns of steel!!

thnx shadow...I've been working at it a lot of years! Too bad that as I age, it is more difficult to maintain that strength [mush less *increase* it!]

~*~*~*good luck with the achilles issue*~*~*~

My PF has definitely become less of a problem; no, it isn't 'better' ....but is not as painful with all of the self-imposed stretching, icing, blah blah blah.

Woo! our friends just stopped by and hauled away

our Toshiba telly. They'll enjoy it, I'm sure.

Thanks Porty. I'm glad to hear your PF is better.

Doc said to give it a rest for two weeks, ice, ibuprofen and we'll see after that. I wonder how fast insanity will ensue? Actually, I'm okay with it. He said we'll basically take it one step at a time until its better and I can run again. So that's good anyway. I don't have a night splint but taped it last night and it was a little better. My splint should be delivered tomorrow. Hopefully that will help the healing process too.

I may have to give up my quest for more half marathons, but as long as I can still run, that's okay.
