Actually I am just checking in - I had kiddie duty this am and that leaves a big fat -0- for the morning run - Plan on a lunch and a PM easy run - Recovery day.

Hey Roots - It will be July before I get into shape to put up numbers like last year - although I think the 150 weeks are history - but never say never

Good running to all

typically a PM runner here.

got 10 miles in last night despite the ice and cold. started out running my 6 mile loop through town (which was slick), and then i jumped on a local snow covered gravel track, and did 1/4 mile loops for the remaining 4. very pretty with the moon, snow covered trees, etc.

Good morning!

I haven't worked out yet, but I have a 5-6 easy run planned for this afternoon. It's supposed to be 60 and sunny. Yay! Come on spring!

More TM stuff - 6 miles 8:15 pace

DW lectured me for blasting 80s rock as her and DD were waking up. Must demonstrate more consideration for the late risers!

10K on the 'mill this morning. My hamstrings are fried this week after pushing hard in the 10-mile race last Saturday.

threshold test today and then speedwork.

Hey Flounder!!! I do believe I know you

I recognized the writing style, but then the amount of miles and the reference to lack of hills in the area was a clear giveaway!!!!

5 easy miles @ Lunch

Fox-Runr - It took reading many posts of yours, but your racing schedule + Treadmill workouts gave it away. If all goes well hopefully I will be able to keep up with you by Green Bay

I am in pretty lousy shape (Speed wise) but it is the same every year - Put on weight and get slow in winter - Run lots of miles to take off weight and get faster during Spring and Summer - Run a decent Marathon in Fall. I just wish it had not been 35# - It means I will have to be a crabby weight loss guy for 10-12 weeks.

Good running to all -

BTW - What made me come to this website? I missed a certain individual from Calgary

7 miles today on the treadmill, and also taught pilates and yoga classes.

Confession: Even though I know how necessary the taper is, I am kind of missing hard training. I feel lazy with these short easy workouts.

Hi everyone,

In answer to flounder I am typically a PM runner. I have to be to work at 6:30am. Thus, doing an AM run is kind of tough.

Today was actually supposed to be a rest day for me, but I wanted to run. During the winter I've been an inside track runner at the nearby gym, mainly because ice + running = no good.

Equinox, you're really close to me. I thought so when I saw the temps you posted, but you're a little west of me.

Anyways, I ran/walked a total of about 1 3/4 miles today.

Can't be too far west of you. I'm only about 15 miles from the ocean. I'm in Wilmington, MA.

Wow! Lots of good runs today! I finally got back into my schedule after not running since last Sunday. Last weekend I XC skied for 3 hrs on Saturday (20 km) and followed that up with a 2 hr run on Sunday. By the end of the run my right adductor was very sore, and it continues to be sore even today. But 4 days off is enough. I need to get back to ome serious training for Vancouver.

Just a start today...5k in 31 min beginning with the TM at 4.5 mph and increasing by 0.1 mph until I was at 7.0. I held it there for the rest of the run, which was about 7 minutes. This is too high for my threshold right now, so tomorrow I will try a bit slower and see if I can hold it for the rest of an hour run.

On Mar 18 I plan to do a 10k race in Kamloops, about 10 hrs from here. Then on Mar 31 I plan to do a 5k race in Vancouver's Stanley Park. These will be markers for my May 6 HM.

Have good runs all!

Sick-recovery run, much to my husband's displeasure. 30 minutes slow easy run followed by 30 minutes walking/powerhiking at max incline intervals.

I feel good, so I feel comfortable that I didn't overdo it.
