Morning, TEAM LIT!

Had an absolute BLAST yesterday afternoon through night with my best friend from high school. As a complete bonus, his father showed up to meet us for dinner. I hadn't known he had moved down. In addition to my buddy being my best friend during that time, his dad was my soccer coach for travel team for about 6 years, so I knew him very well and spent a lot of time with him. It was seriously amazing to catch up after so many years and talk about not only fun times with my buddy but also times with the soccer team.

Me...

1 mile run early this morning. Was going to go longer but, with great thanks to a dear friend (you know who you are :) ) who knows far more about injuries than I, I decided to let this sucker heal and instead just "Keep the Streak Alive."

Smart move Thor, if you get injured during Boston and I pass you, I will have to make fun of you.. of course, that's if you are sitting with MoCo drinking beer.

3 mile of 5/1 this morning with Rabbit and my new friend, Brenda.

She's totally cool.

She can calculate pace on the fly in her head, and she can remember EXACTLY where we went on a run.

She can even keep track of splits without missing a beat.

We did our 3 miles in 33 and change, nice.

Turns out, what we thought was 3 miles before -- wasn't. So, this is the first true accurate measure of that time/distance.

At least what we did before was consistent, though. :)

Was doing the run portions all faster than 11 min miles, except for the booger hill. Even that one wasn't into the 12s, so things are progressing nicely.

Then, off to weights and some balance training.

My brain has NO IDEA where my body is in space. But, we're going to work on that.

I hear you Stich! I think I'm running the right pace and then I look at my Garmin and ooops, I'm not. Good luck!

Thor- good call!

Julie- I am (in)patiently waiting to see early sunrises again. I don't mind running in the dark in the afternoon or evening but the morning, alone is kinda creepy.

Me- On the trainer for an hour with high gear and cadence intervals. After that I'm headed to DS's (and TASM) office for a open house.

Thor...my plans for my first marathon have always included knowing that you were out there on the course ahead of me and would be waiting at MJ O'Connors after the finish. Not to put the pressure on or anything, but please heal soon! BTW, just in case he is reading this, LeftRightRepeat has to be at MJ O'Connors, too...or hanging out with Monica on the hills of Newton, I'm not too picky. I'm not even sure that Tom will be able to get time off from work on Patriot's Day.

10 mile out-and-back run with progressive tempo during the second half. Not my best effort compared to recent intermediate runs, but I still negative split it by 7:30min and there is a significant uphill on the way back. Anterior tibialis flirted with being bad, but it was still better than it was during my last long run. Kind of dreading my lonely long run (14 miles) on Sunday 'cause of the loneliness.

Nice work all!

Been out sick since Monday. When I get sick I don't mess around, high fever chills, barfing, can't move at all. Then all of a sudden I get better. I've been like that my entire life.

Got 3500 yards in the pool this morning. What a struggle.

Going to bike class tonight instead of tomorrow morning, as I plan to do a long run in the am tomorrow.

Scott, get better, that sounds awful! Thor, heal up, you know how!

Crazy week. 9-month issues - teething, starting to talk (bah, bah), walk (with furniture for support), eat solids (or throw them around), separation and stranger anxiety, and a cold on top of it! I ran with my 2 new mom friends pushing strollers Tuesday (so nice to commiserate) but that's it all week. Hoping to swim tomorrow if Eli seems ok for babysitting.

Busy, busy day today but I got great news at work. I got a promotion! Apparently all the pain and angst I went through last year was worth it. That said, I got home a little too late to get 11 done by a reasonable hour on a school night so...DOR.

Keep sending a healing vibe to your way Thor.

Congrats hobey, glad to hear your hard work was rewarded.

Scott, sounds a tough one you are/were going through. And swam 3500yd, crazy man.

Work and life continues to keep my busy.... so just one workout - again.

5 easy miles. My recovery from high mileage weeks with a half and a tough/hilly 18miles inserted a week apart is going very very slow. I am not too concerned YET, but I am afraid that I may have to shorten some of the key workouts (I already did shorten yesterday's cruise interval, and tomorrow's MP run... not sure). Still looking at running 45miles this week (Taper wk#1). Will see.

Weird water retention still going..... My weight this morning was 4lbs higher than normal, at 2-3% lower BF than normal. I am drinking a lot of water.

Taper week. Never know what to do exactly during my taper week. Went out and did 3 miles at a tempo pace, outside. Felt pretty good though, even out in the (little) cold though. Prolly my last workout till my MF on Sunday.

Good work everyone! Took a technique class with the master himself last night - very small class meant lots of individual attention. I've been very self conscious lately had haven't been going to the advanced class, fortunately I finally admitted it to the teacher and he ripped in to me about turning into a shrinking violet. No need for me to hide...heading back to intense dance classes on Sunday - confidence be damned!
