Good morning Runners, Bikers, Swimmers, and Rob.

First, I would like to start off with WOOHOO! No work till Sunday night!

I have a group run tonight at the local running store. I think I'm gonna pick up a new pair of shoes while I'm there... ITB is letting me know I'm due...

This morning I think I'm going to play around with 1 mile pace on the TM. Nothing crazy since I'll be running again tonight. Maybe 1 mile w/u, then some 400s somewhere under 6:00 pace. I've never really tried to PR at 1 mile, Ran it just to see what I'd get a couple years back and came up right at 6:05 or so. I think I may do a time trial next week.

Good morning BBS.

I got out for 5 miles this morning. It started to rain while I was out. The forecast calls for snow today and tomorrow. I am ready for it to be over. Then possible precipitation on Saturday morning for my race. Have a great morning everyone.

I'm out. I've been battling bad knees the past month. Left knee from the fall, right from who knows what. Most likely ITSB. After a few miles MAYBE the right will loosen up. Felt great after my ride yesterday. THis morning, not bad. So I stretched. I rolled. HOPING I could knock out a decent 6-8. But, I got out there and started running. Nope. Not happening. Instead of limping through, trying to PR at a spring HM (without the best training), I'm going to stop running and just let the stupid thing heal. It sucks, but I think that's what I need to do to preserve the rest of the season.

Morning folks...

Winterish weather appears to be back for a few days here too. The forecasteres haven't backed off the possibility of snow this weekend but I'll believe it when I see it. Meanwhile today it's low 40s, windy and raining, not too pleasant. Snow might actually be better.

Recovery day planned here, "easy 7" is what my plans says. And that's fine with me as I'm a little beat up after the last 2 days. I have a meeting offsite at 1pm and then I'll head home from that, rather than fight afternoon traffic back to the office, so hopefully I can get out around 4pm or so in good old Fairfax and knock it out.

BBS - have fun with those speedy 400s

kevin - sounds like you had similar weather to what we're getting in VA.

4BM - sucks to have to back out of a race but it's probably the right decision, esp if it's not a target race.

I can't wait to run this afternoon. Yesterday on the treadmill was fine and all, but ... I need my outdoors. It's flurrying out there. End of March and flurries. Hmph. Oh, I'm in the newspaper today, check it out. (http://www.mcall.com/sports/mc-road-ahead-column-032411,0,2171871.column) Now you can all say you knew me when, lol.

4bm - Smart move! It's better to heal properly than to hurt it worse. Stinks, but it's probably the right thing to do.

Nice run Kevin.

How was the run BBS?

Have a good recovery run Hawk.

Run #1 done. 1 mile @ 8:30, then stretch, then did .30 @ 5:45 pace, .20 recovery (9:00) x2, then followed with an 8:30 cooldown. I am deff. not used to going that fast! I also built this thingy for my man cave A/C unit to sit on outside. Now time for a lil nap before run #2.

Nice jobs everyone.

I had a grand, nay masterful, plan of running 8-10 miles in the forest preserve this morning. That was until DD decided to cough and cry and cough and cry starting at 10pm and ending somewhere around 4am. Poor little thing. So, minimal sleep and no run. My fall back was the gym at work. So, 7 miles on the TM before lunch. Now to try and stay awake...

4boysmom - bummer but the sensible thing to do. I feel my wife will be on that very same path but doesn't know it yet.

Hawk - we had a dusting of snow yesterday and now 30s for a week... boo-hiss!

Jill - can you mail me an autograph?

kfuller - nice going in the rain.

BBS - whoa there speedy!

Jebba - it's good to put things in writing.

RA - I was wondering if you'd make it out. After running around the windy track with the kids yesterday evening, I had a passing thought about getting up early today which quickly passed. So I also wound up on the treadmill at lunch - 6 nice and easy miles.

Sorry about the knees 4boys, I hope you have a speedy recovery. Woo hoo Jill!

Gotta go, have a good one, everyone.

Jill, awesome!

I did 6 miles. It was quite pleasant outside. My garmin did something that it's done once before on the same route: it added too much distance in the first mile. When I had dine .4 miles, it said .6something, and said my pace was 5:50. As if. After mile 1, it was accurate. So I ran 6.4 miles according to the garmin and counted it as 6.

Well yesterday was a no-go so my rest day today has changed to a 4m make up run. It worked out because weather is better today. Still cold & windy but no rain. We did have snow earlier. Run will be after work with the pup on the trail.

Jill - I should have gotten your autograph on monday

FYI: Each Spring Garmin commissions NASA to polish the geo-stationary satellites, hence the atypical errors. Normal service will be resumed shortly.

Nice runs BBS, RA, zrun, Apple. I'm glad you got out there jebba. I think we always feel better after we've run.

I got a good 2 hour run in this afternoon. It was great; sun shining, thirsty as heck and discovered they've started turning water fountains on (yay!!), lots of hills. I guess I'll keep doing these two hour runs through next week and then start to taper. Boston will be here before I know it.

I got the afternoon recovery run in as planned, on the trail near home. Nothing special, just a slow easy run (8:21/mile) on tired legs. 7 miles all told.

Jill - are you doing any speed/tempo training for Boston? Just wondering.

Nope. Nada. Just lots and lots of hills. I just couldn't get into the training this cycle and decided not to worry about it. I've got the endurance to finish the race, but I'm not shooting for a PR this time.
