Last chance June workouts! Go Get em!

Me and DS went out for a little .75 mi run last night. I was thinking about entering him in a local 5K in August... depending on how he does w/ a little training. I'm pretty sure he can run/walk it, and I'll hang with him the whole time. He ran a non-stop mile at a fun run back in March.

Anyways, I am planning on a group run tonight in Memphis. Hopefully I can get someone do drive down there with me. Just an easy 4 on tap, then some Ghost River brew on tap afterwards.

BBS - sounds like a fun plan, both the group run tonight and the 5k with DS

Schedule said 2 x 15 minutes at marathon pace this morning, I got up early to do the fast group's easy 8 miler which turned out to be a pretty good approximation with the fastest 4 miles averaging 7:50.

zrun - nice accidental m-pace run. I checked the weather and it seems that you'll have high 90s tomorrow. We are topping out around 90F most days but somehow it feels like 190F.

BBS - enjoy the beer run. After a few, your DS may out run you (in a straight line).

I awoke with a tight knee so bagged my planned run. It's been a bit tweaky since the 10k the other weekend. Running after DW on the beach yesterday plus driving for two days didn't help matters. Anyway, it seems that I'll miss my June mileage goal but will still get over 40 mpw average, which was the plan. I'm still not sure how I'm going to get to 50mpw.

Ug... so not feelin' it this morning. Bagged the planned track workout. Almost bagged the run. Headed out on totally dead legs. Nothing really felt good this morning but I knew I needed a run to save my sanity. Usual 5.66m route. Tough couple of days ahead. Uncle's visitation is this evening, funeral tomorrow. He was part of the early bicycling movement and got my sister started in long distance stuff which got me into it. He died of cancer at the age of 60.

deCycles finally posted photos! This is day 6 and they are headed to Gettysburg, PA. No good road shots of son1, but good one of him in his element--

Morning folks,

I'm telecommuting today so I was out the door earlier for my own MP run and I nailed the pace (goal was 7:15/mile for the MP portion). Nice morning for a run, low humidity by our standards. Working about a half-day at home then boarding a plane for Syracuse NY. One of my cousins is getting married there on Saturday.

8 miles total -- 1 warmup, then 5 @ 7:12/mile, 2 mile cooldown jog. Felt tight in the first mile, like I should have done one more warmup mile, then it all clicked into place and I was on cruise control for the next 4.

During my cooldown a lady going the opposite way lost her footing on the trail and did a nasty face plant, gashed her knee pretty badly. I stopped, helped her up and walked with her for about 0.1 mile until some other neighbors who she knew well said they'd take her to the hospital for some stitches. So I continued on...hopefully all ended well and she's OK.

BBS - sounds like a fun run tonight

RA - I had a few morning runs like that when I was in Miami a couple years ago. 9am and 95 out already, and that was late September.

zrun - way to kick out that MP run, looks like you're rounding into form

4bm - hopefully that run helped calm the mind, at least you got one in.

Good morning everyone. I got out for some Pre race speed work. 4th of July 5k coming up. Workout was 3X(.13 miles - .25 miles). Basically a 200 and 400.

The first 200 split was not available, but the rest looked good and I was faster each time. Paces ranged from 7:00 to 6:00 and it felt good. I just hope I can hold the pace for 5k.

Nice job on all the workouts done so far today.
