Good morning, TEAM LIT!

Still hot and humid here in the northeast. Broke down and installed two AC units in the house. First time in my entire life that I've owned AC. Might install two more to cover the entire house. That's how hot it is. And with a water ban in town, the grass is burning from the sun and already giving off a straw smell.

niemsco: I didn't stick around to find out the "rest of the story" with the bear, but I will get the full scoop on Sunday at the last race of the series. As the race leader was starting the toughest climb on the course, a bear, probably searching for wild strawberries found in that section and wild flowers, meandered across the course. The photographer had stationed himself in the middle of the climb and, as it happened, encountered the bear a half hour earlier as he nestled in to a good shooting point (for pictures). So he got the race leader coming up the trail as the bear cut across his view. Scott Mason, the photographer, has a series of photographs as the bear goes by, stops to look at the race leader, all before the leader sees the bear, and then the final shot of the leader looking up and seeing the bear. Priceless.
Pictures with bear start on the 10th picture and go through 14.

I'll get full story on Sunday on what the leader thought when he saw the bear.

6 mile trail run early this morning with the Diesel and Joe Trails. Tried out a new pair of trail shoes. Good stuff. Great grip. More flies than you can count. Killed about 96 of them while the other 96,000 buzzed around our heads.

Followed immediately by...

16 mile bike. Avg'd 20.6 mph. No flies.

Great day, Tri-peeps!
