I got my butt out of bed and took the 5:45 a.m. spinning class. It was a good workout this morning, and nice to have it over with too.

Update 12 hours later that I did 30 minutes of pilates, too.

6.5 miles hilly recovery. First week in a long time that I've managed to stay on track with the planned total mileage. The wheels are about to fall off of that truck though.

6.5 miles easy pace. A little sore today. I did a 15K yesterday finished in 73 min which is a PR for me Have a great day everyone-it's almost Friday!

I'm so confused on what day it is, it feels like Monday all over again (but Hoorah that it's not!)

10.1 miles in 1:29:06 (8:49). The air was heavy for most of the run, until a glorious light rain started to fall my last 2 miles.

Grizz, nice job keep it going! I'm quite thankful myself for a rest day tomorrow .... first one in a week!

Hockey night tonight! My first game in a few months. Some guys who have Thursday night pickup games found out my name through a few sources and invited me. Hockey is a series of anaerobic wind sprints - so this is just what I need for my sprinting - psyched to have a new weekly game.

And for you early to bed types - the game is at 10:00.

btw, - nice run Jen. I could never go that fast for so many miles so early in the morning, late night hockey or not!

Very VERY weird w/o this morn--->
almost like a glycemic crash freakout...heart racing, body shaking/weak/no giddyup

then, of course, I ate my post-w/o eggbeaters + wrap, but didn't let it digest enough before I headed out into the HHH to mow the yard

so not only was I hot, I was also feeling ill

good grief, I'm a knucklehead

Mike you're the ultimate family man...that's so cool.

Wanted to incorporate hills into my longer run today, but I only did 2 repeats because I knew I still had like 6 miles to go once I was done with them and I didn't have water with me. I really loaded up before I went and actually had a stomachache from my binge-drinking. About 24oz of water and a little Gatorade before I left. 2 x 0.25 hill repeates without stopping in 1:55, jog dwon, and then 1:39 and on with the rest of the run. I wanted to make this a progressive run towards the end and threw in little surges...sort of like strides except slower and I stayed at that pace then. The last 2 miles into 10-15mph headwinds and I was definitely running my hardest here. I was definitely hungry before I left and I ate so much pain there. I worked on getting my quad lift a bit higher for longer stride and could definitely feel the burn there. Everytime I felt like tuning it down a bit I thought of the race...that will definitely be a good motivator.

8.5 in 1:04:02 for 7:32 pace with the first 3 or 4 miles in high 7s and the last 3 quite a bit faster. I'm guessing my exertion level against the wind would have easily been in the high 6s.

Sorry for the length folks. Have a nice day.

I could not sleep this morning, so when I looked at the clock and saw 3:45am I decided to get up and go for my run this morning.

Legs were dead after the VO2max effort yesterday, and the personal course record on Tuesday on the river trail.

Glad I did it this morning though. It is 25 degrees warmer now and much more humid.

Run Segments
So what I did today was one of them "bricks" that the triathlon people speak so lovingly about.

12+ bike; quick shoe change; 5+ run. Generally moderate-paced, with some random fartlekky bits here and there. Hot and humid. I got real thirsty.

Am I a runner again, yet???

2.5 miles this afternoon along the bike trail. 90 degrees outside, but the trail was mostly shaded. Actually, the distance was slightly longer. But at this juncture in my 'resurrected' running life, I'll round it off! But just wait til I get back in shape.. narry a 1/10th of a mile will be left behind!

And even if it was only 2.5 miles, as always - I ended with a KICK!; though I kicked too soon and sucked wind the last 50 feet! . Oh well, in time...

satfix
really, I did! I DID Kick!

Way to go, Rich!

Tonight's run: 78F and humid at 6:30p

9 miles easy, about 78 minutes. Made plans to meet the running buddy for a few miles mid-way thru the run. Nice, easy conversational pace and it did me some good to talk with a friend.

After 6 at lunch - Work got crazy and I thought I would be here all night - But the storm broke @ 8:30, so 8:45 I went out for a run. I went out full of stress, but with no real plan - I had a full camelback and 2 gels, because I thought it might turn into a long one.

Its been a long time since I ran in the dark - I went the country trail route and had a great run - 1st 11 miles out in @ 7:45 pace and the 11 back in @ 7:00 pace, but the whole thing was more of a progressive with mile # 1 = 8:35 and mile # 22 = 6:10 pace.

I had not drank enough water at work yesterday - so it took a lot out of me

Good running to all -
