Morning folks. Back to the warm/humid stuff today. Steady rain was the last straw, and I headed indoors or just over 8 on the treadmill with 2 x 2 MP miles, which averaged about 7:39 at 'treadmill' MP pace which seems to be around 10 secs a miles faster than what I'd run outside. Take it easy, all.

Super sucktacular splishing and splashing in the fishbowl this morning. 2000m slogging through molasses. Added another 12m spin yesterday afternoon. Rear hatch on the van is now fully functional. And they didn't even charge to replace the stupid burned out bulb which is why I needed the stupid hatch opened. Oh, and can't remember who suggested it, but son1 did consider taking a hammer to the lens to replace the bulb that way.

I'm doubling up today. Bout to hit up the TM for 3 miles of some sort... maybe a mile or 2 @ 7:00 since thats what I'm shooting for at the race saturday... then I will probably get 4 tonight w/ the group. Red Stripe and Dos Equis on ice.

This morning I got out for 9 miles in the post overnight thunderstorm sultry weather. Even some light rain didn't help cool it off - mid 70s for temp and dew point.

Yesterday evening I hit up track practice for 6 * 800. No way was I doing the optional 8 * 800... it was getting hotter and more stiflingly humid by the minute. Must have been in the high 80s but at least it was overcast. Anyway, I forgot my Garmin so I roughly recall my times as follows:

3:01, 2:54, 2:46, 2:54, 3:00, 2:54

Yeah, all other the place. The 3rd one was WAY too fast and I was suffering for the last two intervals. Ended up with a total of 6.5 miles. The exciting news was that I did my warm up and cool down miles in a pair of Adidas AdiZero Mana 5 that I got on closeout. Not as good as the Saucony Fastwitch 4 but they are much brighter in color... if that was possible.

4boysmom - I told you a hammer was the better idea...

zrun - I almost went to the gym but the heavy rain stopped. Nice pace though.

I got out for 6 miles in 47:24. 4 miles was done as a tempo in 29:16(7:19). That was the exact pace I was looking for today. So I would have to say that it was a very good run this morning.

Nice job on all of the running and such.

Going nuts at work again so another fly-by. But bailing at around 5:30 to go hit the lake. It must be new shoe day around here...I'm planning hit the trail in my new Saucony Peregines. It will be a warm, humid one for sure but I'll be under tree cover most of the way.

Afternoon all.

20 mile bike this afternoon. Nice and easy and not trying to kill the legs. 2000 meter swim tomorrow and then a sprint tri on Satuday. Wow only 4 more weeks until Ironman. Not sure if I am mentally prepared. Physically I will finish.

Happy training everyone.
