Good morning!

Great morning this morning, huh loopy? Nice run.

Have a good run Kevin.

8 easy miles for me this morning. Been running with no watch for the past month and a half, it's all by feel. I might wear my watch every 7-10 days to guage where I'm at but I've been in this "I don't care" mode lately. This morning I wore my watch, mostly to keep my eye on the time so that I got back home in time for DH to go to work. 8:04 average pace with a bunch of miles in the 7's. How's that for easy? I am definitely digging this running by feel concept.

Jill--I used to be so anal about pace. If I was slower than a certain pace, it was a "bad" run. I stopped logging workouts and my attitude improved. I still wear a garmin. I will glance at the data but I don't really care. I think I really turned the page when I was at the retreat in NC. I got back from my run and someone asked how it went. I started to rattle off numbers, discouraged about the numbers (uh, it's hilly???). Then I stopped myself. I DID have a good run! Oh my goodness, it was BEAUTIFUL out there. I do need to start getting serious about "training". But for now, yah, I'm still running for the heck of it.

I haven't run yet. It's just starting to snow. I'll wait a bit until there's some good snow on the ground!

Nice run Loopy.

Awesome pace for an easy run Jill. Sounds like what you're doing is working.

4bm- you'll wait to run until there's snow on the ground? Sounds a little backwards to me, but I guess have a good one.

I'll probably hit another easy 6 on the treadmill this afternoon, but if I need to take it real easy I'll keep an open mind about that. I ended up doing a 12 miler for no apparent reason when I was just planning on 6 yesterday, but as of right now, I feel fine, so hopefully I can stick at least 6 for today.

Early morning weights done. More to come like that once the classes get going again....6AM lifting will happen 3x a week. Bummer is, I'm basically lifting easy on Thursday for no reason. Everyone else does it since they have a race on the weekends, but I'm sitting out indoor and just doing outdoor, so I have no reason to ease up and be fresh for anything. I'll talk to our strength coach about it soon. I can't believe I want to increase my load, but I'm also surprised at how much I enjoy weight lifting. :)

5k pace tempos for practice today. Have a great day everyone! And hopefully little Jebba's throat feels better!

Loopy- You should get the most consistent 10 miler award, if there is one.

Jill- ice job on the easy, speedy

MBH- take it easy on that 6

Alex- so, what is '5k pace'?

Well, crappy weather here today, low 30s steadliy dropping w/ light rain that is supposed to turn into some more snow. Thinking about ditching my planned 6 mile Tempo for something a little easier, maybe a mild 5 mile progression on the TM. Don't have a ton of time today... gotta get up early to go my Parents house for B-day dinner.

Oh yea... any guesses as to what the baby is? I got my birthday wish!

BBS -- A hearty congratulations, sir. Nothing like being a dad.

I am done with my 5 miler for the day. It is interesting to see that going running almost 2 hours later than normal made my pace faster. I guess i just need more time to move around and wake up. 5 miles in 42:05(8:24).

BBS- Congratulations on the Baby.

Nice job on the runnign to everyone else.

Hey peeps,

What a week, So Happy It's Thursday.

Computer issues today...my hard drive at work needed to be replaced and now everything is being reinstalled but as a result the machine is pretty sluggish for the moment. But at least they are attending to it. Probably not a good time to tell anyone I'm planning to move on soon (no not yet, just starting to look now). Time for a change.

I packed for spin class later today. I'm going to try the evening session instead of the lunchtime one since it's focused on riding not this silly spin/yoga combo class they are now doing at lunch. I can do yoga whenever I want. Let me ride!

Looks like snow here tonight too, but only about 3 inches or so. Fine with me as I need to head up to Philly for the weekend. Hopefully I can get in a run along the Schuylkill while I'm there.

kevin - nice job with the 5

loopy - way to bang out the 10 and not go crazy

Jill - nice run. I never run without a watch but the past 6 weeks or so when I was basebuilding I often covered it up so I couldn't look at it until I was done. And yeah, my paces picked up as well.

4bm - enjoy the snowy run

MB - always nice when you can pop out a longer run just because you feel like it

BBS - big congrats on the baby news. Bet the parents are even more excited to soon be grandparents

Chances - nice of your DW to get you out of having to travel like that. Hope she gets better soon and have a good 6er.

I was too lazy to get out of bed this morning so 6 miles on the TM before lunch.

Hawk - have fun spinning.

kfuller - I'm more comfortable running later in the day. Something about the body warming up. Too early and I'm just a zombie (more so than normal)

Chances - hope DW feels better

BBS - Is that supposed to be pink text and I was right about a baby girl? Or does orange mean a boy?

Alex - have fun with that tempo

Mailbox - so... somewhere between 6 - 12 today then?

4boysmom - you're running just for the sake of running? What's wrong with you! ;)

Jill - someone else running buy feel? It's a full on epidemic!

Loopy - nice job running is circles.

BBS--I was wondering, too, if that was pink or orange.

Nice little mid-afternoon trot in the snow. Everything from 2" fresh snow, nicely packed, crumbly, and slush. Meh, just a little recovery run. 4.5m.

BBS, sounds like congratulations are in order. And happy birthday, too? Hope it's a good one.

A very easy 3.2 for me. Miss Sunshine is feeling much better. Just in time for school to be cancelled tomorrow, if this snow keeps falling. That will make two full weeks out of school for her. Only 6 years old, and she's alreadya truant.

Hi, everybody.

Congratulations, BBS. Enjoy every minute of it, they grow fast.

I, for one, wasn't very fast today. I slogged through two miles, which included a couple walk breaks. Later in the day than usual, just off. Try again tomorrow.

For all those concerned with my velocity during repeat sessions on the track, we were hitting ~81-82s for 400 splits. So somewhere in the 5:20s...I feel that by outdoor season I have a legit shot at going under 16 though, based on previous fitness levels before. Perhaps I'll get a 5k time trial in at some point in the next few months and see for sure though. Total workout was 40min run (well into the negatives with wind chill, not very pleasant) with 2x6min tempos with 3min recov, followed by the track for 3x4min 5k paced segments with 4min recov. Toughish workout, but it's also only my 3rd since October, and I feel just as strong as I did then. I think the lifting has paid off, and the next month should be really interesting, hopefully getting into some uncharted territory.

Have a great night everyone, and BBS: that's just awesome. Congrats man!
