Morning, all.

Awake at 3:30, over some little thing disturbing my brain that I'm sure in the light of day won't seem so bad.

((Dave)) -- We're pooch people too. So I get it. Sure he was a loved little guy.

Me -- Did 5 easy on the 'mill yesterday followed by 1500 or so lane-sharing yards. Bike and some more swimming today.

Thanks Chances.

45 minutes on the trainer doing isolated leg drills. I followed that up with a short run to keep my running streak alive.

Happy training everyone.

Am I the only one NOT swimming? Nice workouts this morning guys

I planned on a 4 mile run on the Red Loop this morning. When I got there I realized I did not have my trail shoes, and w/ all the rain we got, its not a nice trail for road shoes. Now I guess I'll opt for another TM run. If nothing else, hopefully these TM sessions will help my shins out.

Morning guys,

I had to take care of a few things this morning but now should be ready to run. I have interval work on tap -- 10-12 x 400 at a quick 5k-ish pace.

Then I need to get ready for our long weekend trip tomorrow. We're heading down to Ft. Lauderdale, ostensibly for a family event, a relative's 90th birthday celebration. But it will function nicely as a mini-vacation and getaway from this area just as a cold snap sets in. And like RA, I'll be taking my racing shoes with me...I found a 5k race not far from our hotel on Saturday morning. Should be fun. Anyway I'll be down there through Tuesday morning, looking forward to getting lots of running in without having to worry about which outer layer I need, or do I need gloves, hat, etc.

BBS - I took my road shoes out on a trail on Xmas Day that turned out to be muddier than expected. They were white, are now a permanent beige.

Dave - nice pool work and sorry about the dog. Losing a pet always hurts.

Chances - at least the middle of the night "crisis" didn't slow you down. Nice job on the wet work.

Dave - sorry about the pup. Life in our world has also been devestated by the passing of our dog.

Last night Starr (my best running partner) died. She was only 6 and we are not sure what happened. She became sick last night and we rushed her to hospital and within being there 30 mins she died. They think she may have had a turned stomach and it started to bleed internally. I still can't believe it happened. I ran with her 3x's this weekend and no sign of any problems. My heart is broken and running will not be the same without her. I am not even sure I want to go on the trails and try to run alone. She truely was the BEST RUNNING PARTNER and loved the sport. She was born to run and loved every minute of it.

No run for me today.

Apple, so sorry to hear that.

Still waiting on getting out for my track workout. I wanted to get it done by noon but didn't make that target, hoping now for around 3pm.

Apple--so sorry to hear! 6yo is young, so certainly most unexpected. Understandable you don't want to run trails without her.

We're going through some super sucky stuff which is totally draining my mojo. NEEDED to get out for a run today. Was supposed to be track but just didn't have it in me. Headed up to the metropark, hoping that would spark something. Even the mojo orange shoes didn't help. Managed only a slug fest of 4.17m. Bleck.......

Nice job on all of the workouts this morning.

BBS- I don't swim much and if I do it is for recreational purposes only.

I got in a nice 5 miles at just under 9 minute pace. Have a great day everyone.

Finally got the track workout in after 5pm. Amazingly it was still a pleasant 52 outside; nice to be running in short sleeves in mid-January.

12 x 400 with a 100 rest jog in between. A little fast on the first one in 84, but I held on after that to keep them all 90 or faster. Good workout.

And that's a wrap. Next time you hear from me I'll be in South Florida most likely. Now I just need to get packing.

I am sorry about the dogs. Losing a pet is so hard.

5.25 miles for me today. That's 100 times around the indoor track. I'm surprised I'm not dizzy.
