Fun--I'm going to a senior art show tonight of a student who I just adore. I bought her a really nice paintbrush as a "congrats" gift. And, I get to dress all fancy, too!

Hope I can fit into it...I'm a little "fluffier" these days.

Good Morning My Pretties!

I cannot tell you what kind of effort it took to get into work this morning. My head, she hurts. But I had a beautiful moment when I walked out of the coffee shop with my favorite flavored coffee in hand. it's been raining for the last few days, but this morning the sun is "out"(kind of). So I stopped staring at the pavement, looked up, and realized how very lucky I am to live in a beautiful historic city like Ottawa with lovely architecture. I forget that I work on one of the city's signature streets. come to think of it....maybe it wasn't so bad getting in to work today.

Missy: That's good news about Allie.

Crane: I fluffy too. U not alone.

Grr. I'm rounder. Grr.

QOD: yesterday, through a couple different circumstances, I was reminded just how much drama-filled, self-centered, fake, all-about-me people SUCK.

So, in the spirit of counteracting that, tell me something good about someone in your world that you may not normally acknowledge. Can be someone here, in our little family, or it can be someone in your real world.

I'll start:

*Wip is someone who almost always, without fail, even in telling about trying circumstances, makes me giggle with her posts. I APPRECIATE that.

*2oh is someone who checks in on me at random times, and often when I most need to be reminded there are good people in this world. I NEED that.

*my little nephew T is like a little puppy -- the minute I walk in the door, he's jumping on me, hugging me, telling me he loves me. I LIVE for that.

This doesn't need to be all-inclusive or exclusionary. Just think about someone who has something good about them that we might not know you value. Tell us.

Good morning. {Yawn} I'm tired. I'd post that coffee-drinking smilie if I drank coffee.

Well, my wife got laid off from her job yesterday. The good news is that she had been expecting it for a while, and has already been looking for a new job for a while. In fact, she has an interview today. So, God willing, she won't be unemployed for long. But we'll see. 2010 has been an expensive year for us, between my meidcal episodes and a new car and a new central air system, etc. We don't need an extended period without that extra money...

Greetings, all!

Cranie - wow girlfriend, you are a bundle of energy this morning! :)

Heh.. I snickered with the fluffy terminology. I doubt that any of you guys have serious fluffage to worry about! :)

Fun: Working from home today.

Fun: Building my first fire in the stove. Apparently it takes longer to get a fire going than what I expected. Ahh well.. I'll get the hang of it.

Have a great day daaaahlings! You all ROCK!

Winter, I had a friend visit Ottawa a few months back and he said it was a beautiful city. You should be proud. Unlike Calgary that bulldozed all their history in the 70's.

Gator...sorry to hear about your wife, but great that she has an interview today...good vibes your way.

Count me in on the rounder, fluffier, poofier folks. Time to get cranking again on training.

Fun: Found there IS a Dave & Busters in Wauwatosa. May just have to take my boys for some fun this weekend.

Winter - that 750 was NOT normal for me. I just kept getting great letters and great opportunities. It was pretty fun.

Hey, all. The first part of Solar's QOD is why I haven't been posting for a while. I feel very drama-filled, self-centered, (not fake) and all-about-me. My anti-depressants don't seem to be working and I've been in a pretty bad place for the last several weeks. I would read the thread and have nothing positive to contribute so I stayed away and will probably stay away for a little while longer. Hopefully the new meds will do their job.

But, in the spirit of the QOD, I will give a shout out to Theia who's checked up on me a couple of times and Moon, who apparently asked about me recently and prompted a Theia e-mail. I also give multitudes of thanks for my best bud, Susan, who is always a ray of light and hope in my life. Similarly, another Susan is always available for a warm hug and encouragement, and she has made the last couple of weeks much easier.

I think about you guys all the time, and if there's a new holiday card list afoot, I'd like to stay on the list and get information about the updates. My fluffiness is extreme because I've stopped exercising (another reason I've stopped posting), but I love reading (infrequently) how folks are doing on FB.

Love you all!

Good morning!

Well I really like Solar's positive move here. I need to think a few things through before I speak. But I am glad for something that makes me focus on the positive and builds compassion and joy.

prae - I was referring to people who ARE that, and that's WHO they are, and HOW they treat people -- not people who are going through a tough time. Totally different. I have someone very close to me who is also dealing with depression pretty seriously, and that is a different circumstance (and a terribly difficult one at that) entirely. I hope you know that you are important to this group, and that you can be here even when you aren't feeling up to par.

Morning loves!

WARNING: Geeky story ahead...so a friend of mine here at work and I are huge fans of The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon in particular (I am sure this comes as no surprise, ha). Well, she had a really rough pregnancy and ended up in the hospital 5 times with preterm labor and had gotten to the point where she was close to her due date, totally uncomfortable and starting to worry about her and her baby's health. So the weekend before the Emmy's I joked with her that if Sheldon won for best actor in a comedy series it might be too much for her to handle and induce labor. Well, he won, she went nuts and 3 hours later her water broke!!! She just sent me an email to tell me she sent him a birth announcement and thanked him for being her natural induction! I can only wonder what his reaction will be!!

Hey Prae!!!!

Bob good vibes to Maggie!!!

Winter lovely morning thoughts, it made me smile (so that could be my QOD answer, Winter always posts something to make me smile!!!)

QOD: I am fortunate to have lots of good answers for this.

- I have an old high school friend that I lost touch with but reconnected with about 2 years ago when I realized she lives around the corner from me. I can't even begin to list all the nice stuff she has done for me and my family. But the most recent...the day after I got home from the hosp last week she showed up with a fabulous meal for DH and little man so Iwouldn't have to worry about feeding my boys. So is just so thoughtful!

- I know people think FB is a drama fest and at times itis but i have reconnected with so many people that have become fantastic places to vent, get advice, sound off, all of that fun stuff!!

I really could list something fabulous about every one here if I had the time. I have an oldie that is actually something that has come back many times to be a great source of running motivation to me. I am one of our slower runners and back in the day, when more races had relays, we all did a few together. I used to joke that poor Bob kept getting saddled with me, the slow poke, on his team. But he would always come up with something encouraging or funny to say in repsonse and made me feel proud of my efforts, no matter what my times!!! So especailly when i tried to get back at it after Aiden was born, I remembered his support and it helped me tons!!

I also have relied on Amy for more supoprt and advice in the last few years than i can even remember and without a friend like her (even though I haven't gotten to talk to her much lately) I would have fallen apart long ago!!

the baby is down so i really need to lie down for a short cat nap (she was up from 12-2 then again at 4,5, and 6) before doing last minute packing. we are flying to L.A. tomorrow (headed your way, KJ!!) by ourselves so hopefully it will be a smooth flight.

QOD....I'd have to say that you 30's gang are something else. You managed to lure me in and you've been nothing but kind and thoughtful...makes me think you guys really don't know me.

I've also a coworker he I know enjoys my company. He doesn't associate with too many people at work but seeks me out for coffee. He has a sense of humour that would best be used on a stage...I often have tears pouring down my cheeks from laughing so hard.

morning peeps.

pretty much still a shaky, teary mess although less so. I have been sleeping fine, which is good. And I'm taking tomw off, partly to go to my nephew's Thanksgiving play. He plays a chunk of cheese. Cuz nothing says Thanksgiving like a chunk of cheese.

QOD: My friend Mary at work (who is leaving :'( ) is a new friend, but she is wonderful. I will miss her so much. My other good friend at work, Rebecca ALWAYS makes me laugh. All my coworkers are awesome and make my workdays enjoyable.

My theatre friends are great people and good to a laugh and a joke.

My landlords/upstairs neighbors have been my rock this year, more than two people who I've only known for a year should ever be. I appreciate them more than they will ever know, probably.

My sister and her kids. Esp the kids, who love me and make me laugh without fail. Even when they're being bad (sometimes esp when they're being bad.)

All of you who share your days, your good and bad times, and are so supportive and funny and warm and just plain great.

RiL and Michelle, for playing Wordscraper with me, keeping me on my toes and filling up some lonely time in the evenings when I'm trying to find stuff to do.

I concur...Wippy, for cracking me up every.single.day. You, my friend, are a good egg.

Those of you who check up on me from time to time, out of the blue: Theia, Lora, Lori, Ailarie, Cus, Litch, Kath among others.

boB for always inviting me to hang out with his stupid friends.

my DxH, because even though we're not together, we remained friends and I appreciate that.

the people in the stores I frequent who remember what I order or like or give my dog a cookie.
