From the end of the day yesterday:

You have an NIT office pool??? I don't think I've ever heard of anyone doing that before...
morning! larry's beans are hard at work (heh).

look what i finished putting together last night:

she commissioned me to do some photographs of daisies (appropriate, right?) for reception centerpieces, and i went 10 steps further with the project this weekend without telling her what i was doing. i am sending these invitations out on monday, and all i have left to do is print them. she's approved the proof. i'm excited silly about it.

dear lori,
are you done yet?
staci
Bob I am that bored at work. I think it was because the Rebs were in the NIT otherwise I probably would not even read one NIT score. And we are not betting money or anything, just keeping up with who picks the best.

Let's see......I might have talked myself into a haircut after work instead of waiting until Saturday. If there is a line I will go if not I will stay.

Nothing else really scheduled. I'll probably have the NCAA tourney going in the background on the tv as I goof off on the computer. Hmmm sounds like a typical night.
Spreadsheets to do at work today - at least it's billable work (after 9 hours of stress but non billable work yesterday - oh and too many m&ms).

That's all I've got.....have a good day!
Beaker - You are gonna hang on til Saturday @ 1:00 PM, right?

Nice work Staci.

Tired. DS#2 woke up at 1 AM coughing and hacking. He wanted water. Gave him some, tucked him in, and he proceeded to barf all over his bed. Cleaned him up, changed him, tucked him in with Mrs. LH, stripped hsi bed, started a load of laundry, washed up myself, and crawled back into bed. Never really fell back asleep. Was up from 12:30 the night before with work. I have not had over 4 hours of sleep since Saturday. I am shot. My stomach is killing me from too much coffee (yes there is such a thing). Sorry to be so self centered.
Morning all

Beautiful work Staci!! And wait, Ginger is getting hitched?!!?!? WT!
Been there, coffee overload ain't pretty. Start munching on a loaf of bread, you need a better base Hope the household starts feeling better!
Today is my Friday at work, since I'm taking off tomorrow and Monday.

Amusing thing this morning, but let me give ya some background info.

As some of you guys know, Radioyada and I have been invited to a wedding in about 2 weeks at a country club in North Atlanta. Fancy Schmancy stuff. I haven't bought a dress since 2005, and it wouldn't have been appropriate for a wedding. So... with some advice from the 30's group, and MUCH feedback from Maureen (You rock!), I ended up with one dress ordered online, and another I found in the stores on Good Friday.

The online dress was WAY too colorful for my pale skin tone. It's going back tomorrow. The other one, with a brown base, suited me much better. It does have a halter-style top to it, but you guys have educated this chica on what could be worn with the dress during the ceremony, so that it would be appropriate.

Then.. I learn from a friend who is IN the party, that apparently he misunderstood the dress code. The bride was not at all happy about a yellow chiffon dress that someone was planning to wear, so... maybe my choice wasn't "formal enough?" Ugh.

This has been bothering me for days. If the dress I had wasn't good enough.. screw it... I was going to change my RSVP and just return the dress to the store! I'd submitted some photos of the dress to a friend of mine (friends with the bride) for review, but hadn't heard anything back. Now.. fast foward to this morning...

I had some funky dream that involved my being in some hotel (a huge, multi building hotel, like stuff you'd see in Vegas), and that part of the race was supossed to be run indoors, through the mall part of one of the buildings, but I couldn't find signs posted anywhere, as far as the correct path. The place was crowded with shoppers, and I was so lost. However, while I was there anyway, I planned on looking at dresses, since I couldn't figure out if the one I had was good enough for the wedding, but then there was something about long lines, and not being able to check out with a selection... oiy.

I woke up with a confuzzed WTF state of mind.

And no.. I wasn't drinking last night!!!
Good news is this morning, I heard that the dress is totally acceptable. Apparently the issue about the yellow chiffon dress is that the color 'theme' for the wedding is blue, and the yellow chiffon dress is being worn by the bride's future MIL, and the bride doesn't want the MIL to 'clash' in the photos, and such.

Weddings are complicated matters!
Dude, you're not alone. People *make* weddings complicated ordeals, they don't have to be.

Glad you're all set on the dress, Ailarie
<cough> morning! <sneeze, gasp>

Is it wierd that the AD I interviewed with Tuesday sent me a thank you email (and also left a voice message) yesterday and said if I am interested in a different perspective to come back and meet with one of the owners and head designer?

Do they sound just a bit too desperate? The guy didn't even look at my portfolio....

I talked to my contact in Cleveland last night. She is going to goose the recruiter this morning. And she told me more @ the company... Said that they have a gallery and every month feature the artwork of different employees, and that a few times a year they have an art fair and employees can take a couple hours out of the workday and set up a booth and sell their wares.... Could this job be any more perfect for me??? I really wish they would call. And quick.

At least when I call that art director back today I've got my man-ish voice and wheezing breathing to back up the fact that he probably doesn't want me anywhere near his people, and that will help buy me some time.

Just call me typhoid katholeenie.... again.
Smile and nod, dear. . . smile and nod.

Ailarie!! Great news on the dress - sounds like the bride is caught up in needing perfection. . . and I wish her all the best with that.
FYI I think the issue about the MIL's dress, is that since the theme colors of the wedding are blue and white... the MIL is going to REALLY stand out in pretty much every picture she's in.

Isn't there an unspoken rule about not trying to wear anything that would take attention away from the bride?

(That's just a guess.. I'm ridiculously uneducated on such matters!)
