I'm not having much fun at all.

My computer is thundering at me. I got up this morning really ready to run and no-go. POURING rain. Rats. Must be karma biting me in the ass for not running on the past two gorgeous mornings.

I'm driving DS to Wisconsin after work today - he's going to stay at Dad's for a week or two. <sniff> As tough as things have been with DS lately, I'm really going to miss him. I love that little guy. <sniff, sniff, wahh> The kids never stay with Dad for longer than a weekend. Last summer they stayed for a week and that was really tough. TWO weeks, agh! I dunno. DD is tha-rilled that he'll be out of her hair for that long.

Got home last night and the house was 81. A/C not working. argh! It's new! Just installed when I moved in 3 years ago! I turned it off and on and still nothing so I called and scheduled the heating and cooling guys to come today, opened all the windows and turned on the ceiling fan. Then tried the A/C again and it worked! But it went off again in the middle of the night so I'm keeping the appointment.

Lots of meetings today at work. gloom.

I will let you know when some fun pops up today. bah.

BigG, don't forget to change your filter!

I'm taking my cat to the vet in about half an hour to get his claws trimmed. He's my first pet ever, so there was quite a learning curve when I got him. I didn't know (because I'm also not a parent) that it wouldn't be easy to undo patterns established early. So, when he was a kitten, I didn't trim his claws very often and now he hates it and he's too big for it to be a one person job. Thus, every two months or so, I take him to the vet.

I have so much to do today and there will be 6,000 people at my house. My TM is being delivered today, cleaners are coming, friends are coming to help assemble the TM, the tree guy is coming to pick up his money since he showed up unexpectedly yesterday and I didn't have cash on hand, plus I have two appointments, need to clear up some billing stuff and wanted to make zucchini bread, tzatziki, and a squash casserole. I guess I'd better get off the computer and get started.

No fun here either. I am downright cranky. I won't go into details, but just got flat out robbed. My job really can be dog eat dog.

That said - a bit of fun: Monday the Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled in our favor on a $200 million constitutional issue. Booyah!

Supah humid and I was dog tired when I went out for a run. Finished up in the rain, which I always enjoy (as long as there is no thunder).

Have a good day peeps!

Prae - yay for the new treadmill! I have a Sole and it is awesome (even though I am not a fan of the TM in general). Have fun with your party.

uh oh...the filter? hmmmmm.

So, my ex husband's girlfriend broke her leg and ankle last week, which is part of the reason DS is going there. She has a little black Pomeranian that is old and blind and deaf, so he doesn't come when she calls him. Don't know WHY they let him out at night when they're up North at their cabin but they do and she went looking for him and fell off a deck. DS was going to go anyway, but now they could really use his help since she had surgery and is supposed to be keeping her leg elevated and rested.

I'm am going to feel happy and grateful for intact legs today.

morning

supa tired. I woke up at 430 with another sinus/allergy thing and couldn't fall back to sleep. Now I'm trying to find a way to get a box to Mexico TODAY and they wont let me go and hand deliver it, which totally blows. Apparently DHL was invented so I don't have to go to Mexico. I've already offered to travel to Austrailia and New Zeland with a couple of our anesthesia machines but again it was a no go. Here I think I'm being all nice by offering ha ha .

Heh. I'm pretty sure I know what happened (generally speaking) and I'd be mad too.
Fun: I was just appointed to my town's Board of Education last night.

Not fun: I'm already being lobbied w/r/t budgeting issues.

ETA: Congratulations on the TM Prae - Sole is a great brand. Just make sure that you perform the suggested maintenance and it should last a long, long time.

Hola. No fun here yet. Stupid insomnia fairy is still playing tricks on me, though I've learned that having a fan in the room keeps the noise level constant and I don't wake up quite as often.

Prae - Woohoo for your new TM delivery!

BigG - Sounds as if the system is freezing up (possibly leaking coolant somewhere). That would explain why the turn-off (and leave off) process might have allowed it to start working again. Hopefully your AC guys will have an easy (and cheap) fix for you. However - yeah, filters need to be changed every 3 months for optimal efficiency.

This made me laugh, maybe because I am a little sleep deprived too. Not on call, but the night cycle guys still called me. Asshat.

Congrats Coach, and good luck. I was appointed to our local ZBA, which is far less political. Although the first appeal I got to hear, the property owner showed up with three lawyers.

G'morning all.

Fun: looking forward to Friday

Not Fun: as funny as it sounds, I'm not looking forward to Saturday. Waking up like it was a workday to spend 8 hours in casinos and 7 hours on a bus isn't my idea of a fun time (my dad organized a fund-raising casino trip and I somehow got talked into helping him out). Of course if I hit a jackpot or two, that would help immensely, but what are the odds, right?

(((Mindi))) So sorry to hear about that dog eat dog bit

Woohoo for new TM's, Prae!

I didn't change my filter for two years. And it got caught in the mechanism and made noises. Which probably didn't help the fact that the refrigerant was excessively low. My AC guy (who hasn't called, thank God!) said 3 months is about right. 3 months/2 years, it's approximately equivalent, right?

I'm achy today in parts of my body that I didn' t know existed. Does that make sense?

I guess I do have some fun to announce: Today is my Friday because I'm taking tomorrow off to meet a friend in Manhattan for the day. Maria, you interested in meeting up for a beer at some point? My friend might have to leave before the end of the workday, however, so I can't gaurantee how late I'll be out. But we can keep in touch about it...

Hi all!!!

Just thought I'd check in and say hi. Going to a friend's house tonite for dinner, and give DD a chance to jump in their hot tub if she wants. Plus, we'll be watching an episode or two of Top Chef.

Then, we are heading to Portland this weekend to see my best friend and his family. That will be super fun.

Sadly, KP & Tonya - this means we will not be joining you for the reception. That was an incredibly sweet invite, and I would love to see you guys, but we will have to wait until my cross-country trip!

Have a great day, all!!!!

It was a bug.

A bug got into a place in the air conditioner unit that intermittently prevented an electrical connection from happening.

A fuggin' bug.

I can't wait to see how much that bug cost.
