Well, I did the Action Week 5 Mile Road Race last evening after all. It rained and the wind blew. I had a decent pace going but I had to keep stopping to readjust Evelyn and talk Lena into not squishing her in the Chariot. But we finished, 55:23. And we weren't dead last. Ok, the only guy we beat was the old guy who drinks and smokes and only runs once a year (for this particular race) and he had bandages on both knees. But still. We finished and Evelyn got her very own certificate. : )

No runs today. I'm beat. Feels like I got hit by a damn truck. Anyone who thinks running 5 miles in a wind and rain storm pushing 2 kids in a stroller isn't tough is wack!

Nice work, Clare! Yeah, I know that pushing one kid in the stroller on a nice day is hard work. Pushing two in wind and rain must be grueling!

Hugs to Missy.

Four days later and I still feel rather beat up. But I got a run in last night without any problems. I'll go for another easy one today...

(((Missy))) I'm so sorry for what your friends are going through. How truly tragic.

Clarebear -rawr! Way to go, daaaahling!

Today is my work-at-home day. Usually I get up at the same time to get a run in before work. This time, I killed the alarm and went back to sleep. Somehow I know that was the best decision. Maybe I'll get the miles in at lunch or maybe this is the start of my "take a few days off" deal that I've been thinking about. I'm okay with either.

((Missy)) I hope the run helped a little.

I worked out with Little Miss Evil this morning. I'm happy with the gym switch so far. I just wish they had a pilates or yoga class in the morning. Maybe when the schedule changes in the fall...

Thanks, you guys!

Amy, I'd like to take in a yoga or pilates class, too. I must check our local Y schedule and see what they have and when. You should see Lena doing her very own downward dog, it's too funny. She said to my MIL the other day, "Watch me! I can do a downward dog!" hee hee!

Awesome job Clare!!! I know that had to be difficult.

Bob - go easy.

I went to the LRS for my second run of the day yesterday. Ran with a couple of my friends and we did get the pace woahed down a bit from our usual wed night routine. I think we averaged something like 8:20 or so, and it was needed in the heat and humidity. The three runs that I've done in about a 26 hour period have really thrashed my quads. It actually feels kinda good, haven't had that soreness for a while.

So, should we start a list of people who have been MIA lately? Haven't seen much Pacer or PTom...who else?

Nice work Clare!!!

I think I'm taking today off. Fired a kiln last night, so my sleep is all wacky (and my brain is mush), and I have some bad chafe spots on the small of my back. There is no tag in my shorts, so it has to be from the flat seam? Dunno. But it's annoying. Pass the aquaphor.

Missy - Sorry to hear that about your friends. I can't imagine.

No run yet today. It's weird taking 36 hours between runs, but tonight is going to be gorgeous. So probably an easy six tonight.

IMOO - Yep, the cows. And it will be 2012 for me. I would have two guys right at the same pace (at least in the run) as me to train with. So if I'm ever going to do one, that would be my window of opportunity.

Morning, everyone. Was thinking about running today since I won't be able to run Saturday morning, but decided I wanted to sleep more. I'm doing the week's long run tomorrow and then I'll try to get a short run in on Saturday afternoon after I volunteer at a race.

Way to go, Clare. I think you ran that faster pushing two kids in a stroller than I can currently run by myself. You must be one fit mama!

MIssy, my heart is aching for you. You know too well have capricious life and death can be to not be moved and humbled. But Please remember that you are well, healthy and WILL have your lovely daughter when it is her time to come.

Great job Clare!

Hyland last night for me was BAD. It got muggy out..AGAIN and I was running with a chic that was a bit faster than me. I almost wiped out AGAIN but caught myself before hitting the ground..it wrenched my back pretty good though. halfway through through the increased pace caught up with me and I was DONE. blah. On the plus side, a very nice person had dinner already started when I got home :)

Biked on the trainer for 30 this morning and walked the dog. Running after work.

Missy, so sad for your friends :(

Baggs, 2011! Why not? I'm sure we'll be up here next summer with the bus, we could do some long bike rides together! I'm still on the fence, though, but if I could get some others to sign up that might push me to just do it.

12 miles done at 8:10 pace. We'll see how this treats the hammy tomorrow. The lungs are ready, the brain is ready, the rest of the body is ready....just waiting on the right leg. Arg.

It's quite a challenge to get back in shape enough to think about trying to get started to work my way to get in race shape.
