Good morning, guys. Where is everybody?

So today would have been Voo's birthday, right? Happy Birthday, buddy!

I had a nice tempo run last night. 7.5 miles at about a 8:05 avg pace. I think I'll hit the gym this evening for some lifting. And maybe I'll sneak in a few minutes on the TM as well. This works out nicely becuase it's crappy weather today and I won't have to run in the rain.

So, what about you guys?

Howdy folks.

My low car/low cal lunch came back to bite me yesterday, as I had NO energy for my run. I squeaked out 3 miles and threw in the towel. Meh.

I'll get 4-5 later today at some point.

Morning gang -

Nice work on the tempo run, boB!

Happy Birthday to Voo.

I got 7 miles run this morning at a decent pace that felt easy. It was much needed and super fun.

Maria - how is the weather looking for Sunday?

More gropes for Dan today too, just because it's so much fun.    {{{{{{Dan}}}}}}

Good morning!

I'm hoping to get about an hour of running in at some point today. It would be lovely to do during the day instead of night, but we'll see how my timing works out.

Nice job with your tempo run, Bob.

I've had that happen to me, too, Ailarie. Hope your run today is much better!

Nice running Cindi!

Morning all. Nice runs Bob and Cindi. I had the alarm set for 5 to get up and go to work early, but it was much too nice in my bed. Didn't get up until almost 6:30. I really needed the extra rest though. This girl is knackered.

No run for me again. What I really need to do is set some goal races for spring and write up a schedule. The half last weekend was the end of my fall training schedule and I am a bit in nowhere land. Need to get organized before I start completely slacking and gain 5 lbs.

Dan, that's some rough stuff! But true to your nature, your recap/thoughts about it cracked me up.

I ran about 3 miles last night. I'll hold it there for a week or so before I bump it up some more. Felt fine.

Swam this morning. Kept it kinda short because I'm heading to the beach for the day. 1800 yds.

Time on the bike trainer for me yesterday and then again this morning. My own bike makes my knees happy. The spin bikes make my knees stabby.

Dan - while it sucks, I hope the scope will take care of the problems you been having once and for all!!

Afternoon all! It's a crazy busy work day + I'm leaving soon to volunteer at the NYCM expo so just a quickie post for me. Could not bear the combo of dark + cold + rain early this morning although I was wide awake and up & out of bed. Going to try for later this evening and maybe on the TM if conditions remain the same. Don't feel like getting sick this close to the marathon.

Oh man ((((Dan)))... yuk. Any chance Paige will share her Halloween treats w/you?

Hi all - like Maria, crazy busy work schedule right now...barely had a chance to skim the thread and had no time to post yesterday, and just a quickie (for now) for today.

The weather up here in the PNW has been spectacular the last two days - Mt. Rainier looks absolutely majestic in the clear air and cloudless skies...not to mention mid-70s temps(?!)

Do want to say Happy Birthday Voo! and I hope I can catch up things later this afternoon.

Hi gang!

Who's running NYC this weekend?

I was away for a few days but managed to run while I was gone. Chilly but nice. I picked up a new long sleeved shirt to run with and it's great.

This weekend is the annual house crawl. 7 stops, 17k. We finish with an end of year banquet and dance. Food, fun, laughs! I'm really looking forward to it.

Fun time last night. Ended up running about 3 miles while having some testing done. Did a lactate threshold and a VO2 max test last night with one of Tonya's colleagues.

Learned a few things.

1) I'm pretty fit for a 38 year old. VO2 max is 51.3 ml/kg/min. Max HR is 194.

2) I need to be doing a lot more interval work, and at a faster pace. I hit my lactate threshold around a HR of 163 and 9:10-9:15 pace.

Great information as I go into the next training cycle, and the best part is I can repeat this in about 8-12 weeks to see progress. Oh, and it was free.

Cool data KP. I'd like to get tested some day, the race conversions for VO2 max have me right around 50 I think.

Good PT session today. She was showing one of the other PTs how amazing it was that she could pinch my Achilles now without pain. I got a bunch of new exercises and we decided that we needed to come up with a scientific testing/rating scale for shoes to let consumers know where each model landed on the motion control - neutral - cushioning continuum.
