Morning folks;

To keep BBS happy, I ran 10 miles. Actually, it was last night on the indoor track so my miles on the date plan is already in the toilet.. Included 5 * 1k repeats at 5k pace (5 * 40-45 second laps). That was the fastest I've run in months. I may try to get 5 recovery miles on the TM later today.

Have a good one.

No desire to be in the more miles than degrees club today so delaying my run until it warms up a bit. It's gonna be a bit of a wait as we're still at -2*.

Found out a friend of mine died yesterday morning. Not a "close" friend. The owner of the bike shop back home. But still, quite the loss. He was only 62.

RA- Nice effort. Maybe tomorrows 11 will go well?

4BM- Hey, it says it feels like -2* here, but its actually a scorching 8*

Kevin- Enjoy the non running today

I didn't go to work last night... doesnt look like it snowed alot, but everyone was saying that the roads were terrible, all ice, and I have a 50 min commute as it is. I gotta take DW to wife this morning, drop off DS, then I'll come home and get a TM run in. Maybe a 5 mile progression run.

Morning all,

sorry about your loss 4BM.

Like RA I went hard indoors last night. The RW plan said to do 7 with the middle 5 at 6:40 pace which would be my tempo interval pace. But I had a feeling that was a little bit ambitious for where I am now and I was unfortunately right about that. I made it about 2.5 miles into the tempo segment, at which I point I decided to turn this into an interval workout. I then took a recovery jog, then did a mile, then an 800, then a 400. But as punishment for not completing the planned workout, I picked up the pace on each of them. So here's how the improvised ladder workout looked at the end.

Mile warmup

2.5 miles at 6:40 pace

800 jog

Mile at 6:30 pace

400 jog

800 at 6:20 pace

200 jog

400 at 6:07 pace

Mile cooldown

Not sure I will get anything done today. My work day is jam-packed and I have a massage at 5pm. Most likely I won't feel like doing anything after that. It was a scheduled XT day anyway so no impact to my mileage.

Have a good day all, try to stay warm if you can. Cold here too, but we're supposed to have a few straight days of 50+ highs starting Sunday. Woo-hoo!

Quick post as typing with this splint is a bitch. Went out looking for my running mojo. Ran to one end of the neighborhood and didn't find it there. Ran to the other end and didn't find it there either so just ran back home. 4.5m total. Knee is still wonky. I'm starting to think that a spring marathon is out. BUT, with this base I could possibly shatter that pesky 1:50:50 PR.

I was interviewed by the paper yesterday. Article was in today's paper. I got two whole lines!

G'Day, all.

Way to make us look proud and smart, 4BM. Hawk, I would absolutely take that workout.

Hard to believe New Hampshire is a relative warm spot, but it was about 26 when I embarked today. I thought about doing 3, but felt so good I went on and did 5. Could have done more but I was pressed for time at that point. This is turning into a pretty encouraging week.

4bm is famous! And a big woot! to running safety. You can never be too safe on the streets.

Also, sorry to hear that sad news, 4bm.

Kudos for the hard runs RA and Hawk. Well done!

Um ... my running has been horrible this winter. After finally getting back into the groove and getting my long runs back up there (18 mi) I had a weird achilles issue out on a run 2 wks ago. It totally seized up on me. No past issues, it came out of nowhere. I took a week off, the next week I ran 15-20 minutes a shot. Everything is back to normal again but I feel like I lost so much fitness in those two weeks. I'm back up to 45-60 minutes of running a day and I am not even paying attention to mileage. In fact, I haven't worn a Garmin in so long, I don't miss it at all. I can tell you this, Boston is going to bite. Oh well. I'm just trying to spend as much time on my feet right now in prep for my debut 50k in a month. Yikes.

I've been having a tough time getting in here, but I miss you guys.

So... I eventually found the time to pop down to the gym here at work and get in 5miles on the TM. Thrilling is not a word I'd use.

I find the site flakey when I used Chrome or Firefox. It seems OK with IE.
