Good morning, TEAM LIT!

Cak: Hope the dizziness stuff subsides. Dang. That sucks.

5 mile semi-tempo run early this cold morning (14F). Started doing some "down hill strides" but had to cut them short at two due to, well, having to run home for the bathroom. No harm.

Still vertigo-ing.

Had DH drop me off at work today, not that I'm super functional. Just couldn't take one more day on the sofa! Beginning to not feel human, going insane, etc. Luckily, the professors for whom I work are totally understanding about this kind of thing and where like, "So, if you're not feeling better, why are you here?!?!?"

Just insisted to primary care Dr's office that possibility of inner ear infection be considered and that I get the appropriate drugs. Am seeing an ENT at 12:45pm...just have to figure out how to get there and back.

Feeling almost normal if I sit and don't move my head. LOL! Sat on the trainer last night for 51 minutes of my usual easy spinning because it doesn't GO anywhere and I needed to do SOMETHING! Also, accompanied DH on short, slow dog walk last night and this morning. Really does feel like I'm trying to walk while drunk, even though my gait is normal and I can walk in pretty much a straight line. No fun buzz, however.

Also, am out of coffee at home...used up the last bit on Sunday morning. Have had one cup here and I'm pretty sure it's gone straight to my head! Weeeeeee. Maybe it's time for another cup...

The longer this goes on, the more I consider trying to learn how to run tethered to another person. Never thought I'd have to try so hard to enjoy "rest." LOL!

Cak - hope you feel better soon. wow I've been away for awhile not sure what's going on

Hopefully I'm back to posting. Sorry for the burst of rage back in January or so I had on some post and got mad at Matt and Ron. Sorry about that! I'm seeking help :) Just was a bit on edge because of my leg, and probably the few glasses of wine I had helping me deal with my misery. Hopefully no one is mad at me.

I did 6 miles on the tm this morning. I plan to ride on my trainer tonight hopefully.

Cak - feel better!!! Good luck at the ENT.

Went out for an early morning 4-miler with Bailey the Wonder Dog. Felt sluggish but not awful. Bailey seemed fine until we hit the signal right at the 4-mile mark (had a 0.2 walk home from there) and actually flopped down at the signal. So, got her moving and around the corner from home, she puked all over the sidewalk. I had to use a substitute food yesterday (ran out of hers and pet store order wasn't in yet) so wondering if that did it. Poor pup....she seemed fine once we got home, but she's definitely getting a DOR tomorrow.

Scott - welcome back. I was wondering when you would start showing up. This place isn't the same without you.

cak - I had a half dozen or more of vertigo attacks during the last, hmmm, 5yrs or so. Seemed to be related to cold/ear issues, but nobody could pinpoint what was the root cause and I don't know when it would hit me (had to let a few races go due to the fear of losing balance). Hope med helps you to be comfortable. The sensation of the world going around you isn't fun.

11miles including 9miles at MP done. Pleasantly surprised how my legs moved in spite of the initial super heavy feeling, which I totally expected in the middle of another 60mpw. Total ave. 8:03 with the second half faster (target: 8:20). Hip has started making some noise - telling me it is time to get a massage. May swim later, or may let it go.

Welcome back Scott! How's leg doing now?

Me, Pain Cave 1:15 w/ 50min solid in Z3. been a WHILE since I've seen Z3! 5min intervals

watts per 5 min 170, 190, 160, 200, 170, 210, 170, 220, 170, 220 (according to Computrainer)

I don't think the watts were right though, or I just suck, because it felt like about 20 watts higher than that and that is what my PowerTap said. Whatever, idea was keep HR up there and change it up.

Yay, Scott is back! I was worried we'd seen the last of you.

Tempo run on the TM tonight, 3.5 miles total. Maybe some core work after if I'm not too tired. Toddler has been a downright bear the last few nights. Not sure what is bothering him but he wakes up crying every hour. NOT FUN.

Some days it sucks. Can I borrow yours :) My goal is to get back to Scott speed by end of March, though I'd really like to be faster than Scott speed, but oh well...

Weights at lunch and pool after work...all I can do...did something weird to my left knee *last* Thursday (kneecap slid out and then back in). No real pain, just felt really really gross. Has been ok since, but yesterday afternoon it swelled up like a balloon! Again, no pain, but now stiff and limited range of motion. R U Kidding me?

ANYWAY...did make an appt w/NP for early next week in case it isn't better, just to make sure I didn't do anything else. so will skip tomorrow's run and no skiing this weekend.

Thanks, again, for the kind words everyone. ENT says it's just labyrinthitis of my left ear (inflammation of the inner ear) and I just have to wait it out. While I have meds for the nausea (dramamine, basically), the wacky spinning movement when I move certain ways is still there. Trying hard to be patient, but I need to try harder. If you know of some good meditation exercises, I would love if you'd share them with me.
I wish! Was told that coffee would aggravate things, though. Caffeine is out. So, also no chocolate. He didn't say anything about booze, but I'd expect it's probably also on the "no" list.

I would lend you one of mine, but they're slow. Also, my left leg has more issues than the right, so you'd have to take the right leg. Can you lend me an inner left ear?

Still optimistic that I'll be well enough to do *something* at Boston...it just may not be pretty and it may involve lots of walking, but I feel like I've got to try.

Hi Scott!

Snowpocalypse never really materialized but all the kids got off school today. I resurrected my mad Michigan driving skillz and carefully drove into work. I almost didn't bring my running gear but I'm glad I did since the sun came out and I got to go on a glorious 10.8 mile romp through the snow.

Post tib tendon is feeling better every day so I'm cautiously optimistic. Going in to see my DC this afternoon and he will invariably do more evil things to my leg. Good thing tomorrow is a rest day (since I did my med-long run today) because I'm usually sore after seeing him.

Hi Scott! Sorry I pissed you off, didn't mean to!! Hope you saw my apology back there.

Lazy snowy morning for me, then trekked in to work to find the roads bare and dry. Should have brought my run gear, I guess - oh well. Ended up with just a trainer workout before dinner. Tried for 2 x 20 min at 18.25 mph (215 W if you believe the Kurt formula), but the second one turned into 3 x 5 min with a couple minutes of rest between each. Not ideal, but decent enough.

Hey all, Sorry I haven't been around much, been both busy and lazy. I also worked the night shift a few days and that totally threw me off, so I'm just getting back to things. I have to work until 7 tonight so I split a little early yesterday in hopes of getting in 20. I got to mile 3 and turned around. I do not feel right, breathing was hard, legs felt fine, but rest of me just "hurt" I think I'm sick, but I'm on antibiotics for a minor infection and other than that, I'm feeling just fatigued *I checked, not a major side-effect, so... I'll rest for a day or two and have a 1/2 Marry on Sunday, so I'll do a warm-up and hope I live ;)
