Great job tamster on the hill repeats...love the description of your run yesterday.

Econo, thinking of you and Ben.

McSolar, are you better today?

Opie, I forgot to wish you and your DW a happy anniversary the other day.

It was great to have millbot here the other day. I sure miss him.

22F, silver moon and bright stars as a witness of one of the best tempo runs for my wings in recent history.3.25 miles of slow run then the following:

1x1mile @ 8:31

1/4 mile jog

1x1mile @ 8: 34

1/4 mile jog

1x1mile @ 8:21 (sure do not know where that come from)

1/4 mile jog.
This sure was a fun run and the best run for me in a while. I even saw some 8:10 pace for a minute or two during the last two of my mile reps.

As I was running the mile repeats I was thinking of the conversation we are having here about paces. I think Perch was the one who said the other day, back in RA, that tempo runs should be hard, but should leave your recharged. That is exactly how this run felt today...tough, but fun, just like the Wiseone recommends it.

Last workday for me. I hope I can perform well today after the "Victorian" New Year's eve party I attended last night. The mind is a little fuzzy, I may add.

Hello Butterfly lady and all who follow.

3 miles this morning just shaking the legs out. Had a good time running with a gal who is just starting to run. Sun at the start of the run and snow falling at the end. Gotta love the changing weather.

Happy Thursday to you.

nice miles mariposai!

i've felt human since yesterday... just got whacked with a lovely bug. shoulda just stayed in bed from the very first signs... oh well. still congested, but sore throat and headache are gone... so now the challenge is to build up my running slowly so i don't have a relapse. undertrained is better than overtrained... my new mantra.

we're getting snow flurries in tucson today... i imagine a lot of people are doing things they have put off for a long time... "it'll be a cold day in... before i do that" sort of jobs.

nice hills tamster... watch those hamstrings, especially if you're sitting around. the 5th and 6th repeats will help you enormously in that hilly 10k in a couple of weeks.

Yay! Mr. Solar is back! They have a saying in the ultra community: if you under train you risk a DNF, but if you over train you risk a DNS. I'd rather risk the DNF.

No running for me today, I'm busy packing for my weekend "Say Goodbye to 2010 Blowout". 3 marathons and 2 parties in 3 days. The marathons I can handle, I'm not so sure about the parties.

Glad you're getting a bit better, MC!

Nice run, Mariposai!

Hi SeeMom and Dove!!!

Dove, I'm still trying to get my head around that weekend plan of yours. Hope you've got some rest time scheduled for after!

No run for me today..... temps are taking a major rise this afternoon and bringing rain, so figured I'd at least try to get some skiing in before the snow's toast. I only have old wooden touring skis that have to be waxed, and guessed wrong at the snow temp. After about an hour of slip-sliding around and attempting to rewax on the trail twice, I'd had enough and went home to cook breakfast. Will look for a deal at the end of this season on some new gear, as I've spent too much money the last few days to justify that kind of expense now.

DH is still in some pain, but the Percocet are doing their job and letting him sleep at least. I'm pretty sure the problem is in his back, but he's in major denial. He sees his GP next week, so we'll see.

Hi Kickmasters!

Whoa, Dove you know how to say goodbye to one year and welcome the next in fine style!

Sorry about the back pain or pain in general for your DH Heme. Hang in there

We spent the earlier part of the week in Upstate NY visiting family so I got to live up to my handle---CNYrunner---actually most of the running was in Rochester, so I guess I was WNYrunner, but close enough. Lots of miles along the Erie Canal towpath and some with my kiddo too. Today's run was back at home in Western, MA--- 11 miles with Iron J---chattering away and comfortable at 8:20 pace. Blizzard barely brushed us and you can still see lots of lawn and clear pathways.

Hope your return to strength keeps speeding along mcsolar---undertrained maybe and also strong---draw on that when you race. Roar!

If the warming trend holds, I'll wear shorts for a January 1 fun run/race. Fleece still close at hand for the weeks to come.

Sweet numbers there Maraposai! nice work!

Sending love always to Ben and Econo and family

Dove, I'm sure you'll do fine with both. of running hard & playing hard.

After work I did a workout that has become second nature now, 2 mi. on the grass XC track, into the Y for circuits, back out for 2 more miles. I was able to increase a couple of the weights.

eta-checking my log, I'm glad this month has 31 days. I get to break 100 miles tomorrow for the first time since July!

Since I never went to bed formally Thursday night, I suppose I'm allowed to post in this thread now. 4.25 miles early yesterday morning, then we left frigid Orlando to spend the afternoon at the Kennedy Space Center. From there we drove straight to the airport for our 9:30pm flight home... which didn't end up departing until 3am! Just got home about an hour ago. I dozed at the airport and on the plane, so instead of going to bed like the rest of my family has, I'm caffeinating and planning on going out my final run of the year in a little bit. I can always sleep next year.

Happy belated anniversary wishes to Opie and Ribs, separately, of course.

And a happy pre-emptive birthday to mc!

Onward and upward!!
