Well this morning;s run was interesting. I woke up, lost the battle with the snooze alarm, AGAIN, and finally got out the door. About half way through my run, I saw a couple of deer walk out of the woods onto the sidewalk in front of me, I guess they saw me and both started running into the street, right in front of an oncoming truck.

Yep, one deer got smashed by the truck and I saw it fly through the air and I saw the other deer go down also. I assumed it got hit also but maybe the second deer hit the truck? Well anyway, I was still running and I saw the truck basically just slow down some and then I guess he figured nothing serious happened to his truck so he kept on driving. I could see the second deer struggling to get up and I assumed it was a goner. I saw 2 ladies running in the opposite direction and I warned them about the hit deer so they wouldn't get hurt.

I got to the end of the road, doubled back and by the time I got to where the deer got hit, I finally saw the first deer on the other side of the road from where it got hit, dead obviously, and I couldn't find the second, so I am guessing the second one either survived or limped back into the woods where it probably died. Very bizarre sight to see the deer, then see the truck lights and I just knew at last one of the deer was going to get hit. I was really surprised that the truck didn't stop to check for damage. I looked back to see if the truck stopped but it never did. It would have been interesting to see how much damage actually happened to the truck.

I did get 10 okay miles in.
