Good morning!

After a very nice dinner in Columbus with KCWoodhead, I managed to drag my butt out of bed just barely on time to get my run in this morning.

Fastest 6 miles all summer. Sure didn't feel fast, ugh! Damm humidity!

I have to cancel my appointment with Lisa, though, because part of my tooth fell off, so I get to go to the dentist instead of abusing myself on the TRX. gak!

Oh yeah, and today's my first day of teaching for the semester. Yet another crop of young women (mostly) who ALL want to go back to their hometowns to teach 2nd grade in the school where they went to 2nd grade. Yeah. That math doesn't quite work out, and it takes them awhile to figure it out. lol But, they're generally pretty fun.

Good morning, TEAM LIT!

Busy for me so right to it...

5.5+ mile run early this morning with the Andyman. The Diesel was supposed to join us, as the course start was in front of her house, but she slept in. Felt strange parking in front of her house. But this allowed Andyman and I to kick pace up a notch.

Followed immediately by...

16 mile ride. No bike computer. Went hard.

Great day, Tri-peeps!

6 mile run under a clear and star filled sky this morning. Cool and peaceful out. Was able to zone out and the run just flew by. 10-15 mile ride this afternoon depending on how soon I can get home to get started. 2 mile run with DW followed by core immediately after the ride.

Great workouts to all!

Sticher - Dang, you last part of your tooth, that sucks. I bet you look like a bad ass though.

For me today:

AM - Up at 4:25AM and at the pool and in the water by 5:15AM - 3,000m in the pool (500m wu, 8 x 50m drills, 16 x 25 @ 10 sec, 600 pb, 16 x 25m @10 sec, 8 x 50 drills, 3000 cd). I felt awesome this morning, I was swimming faster than I ever have and wasn't tiring and sore like I had been. I believe that I am officially over Parvovirus B19. I am making some strides (or would it be strokes) in my swim form and thus seeing it in my times.

PM - 1:15 bike ride @ Z2, at :10, insert 6 x 5 min Z4 @ 3 min spin....looks like it is going to be a hill work out for me....seems to be the only way I can get my heartrate up to Z4 when on the bike.

Have a stupendous day everyone!

The family is headed to the tri-course for their volunteer dinner this evening. Meanwhile I will have the house to myself. Ahhh, no pressure!

Once they leave, I'll be headed out on my bike for my last serious training ride of the season.

2500 m at masters swim this morning. After breakfast and dropping off the two big kids at camp, I took the two little ones in the stroller for a 45 minute run on the paths along the shore of Lake Ontario. Glorious summer day here. Might do 30 minutes of intervals on the bike this evening if I still have any steam left.

Ug... week before my 70.3 is NOT going well!!! Yesterday I felt like I was coming down with a cold so took an unscheduled rest day. Today once I finally dragged my carcass out of bed at 8:30, I went for a super easy short 4 run. Legs just felt dead. Might go for an easy spin tomorrow. Feeling so sluggish, yet afraid to just rest because I feel liek I gotta be doing something!

Then spent 45mins on hold trying to figure out why son1 can't scheudle his classes. Finally traced it down to they screwed up his registration last year, indicating he graduated high school in June. Nope. He's a senior THIS year. But, of course, the person I was talking to couldn't do anything, so I had to leave a message in another dept. Ah...... gotta love college.....

Now, I gotta take son3's shoes back to Kohl's. They forgot to remove the security tag. Any guesses how long I'll have to wait in line for that?!

Bike commute day. Really not feeling that well today (despite a rest day yesterday). Think it's a lack of sleep catching up ...

Anyway - about 44 miles on the day - all slow (in the 16s). 17 miles in; 16.2 at lunch; 10.8 home.

Shame ... 'cos it's a nice day.

Ran in HR zn 2 for 70 min this morning.

As usual, did the PT stuff I'm supposed to do before runs/bikes. But, also added some use of The Stick and a 5min easy warm up spin on the trainer followed by some light stretching. Adductor/groin still complaining and still sort of tight. BUT, things loosened up about 10-15min in and felt almost normal the rest of the run. I see my PT/coach tomorrow and he says he'll do some bodywork, so I'm sure that will be "fun."

No way! That was going to be my first trail marathon, too! And it still might be, but now it is a very, very, very long shot, like perhaps 2% chance of it happening. Wife and I were going to go to CA for a vacation to visit her sister, who lives there, but with us trying to save money, we pushed the decision off... and skewed it to likely no. Anyway, I wanted to do that race!

Good luck, and nice to see you around again!

Come to California, Thor!!!! It would be so cool to have you out there! I'm kind of doing it on a whim...I'm sooooo not a trail runner, but my cousin said it's the hardest marathon I'll ever love. The scenery is supposed to be spectacular, good aid station support, Avalon is so small that you it doesn't matter where you stay...the start is just down the street. :)

Let me know what you guys decide. We're thinking about making a weekend out of it and taking the kiddos (yikes!), but not 100% sure.
