54 mile ride - about 18 mph. First 2 hours were pretty speedy (19.2) - then hit downtown Portsmouth and eased my way home more slowly.

4 mile run early this morning. Laced up a new pair of Saucony Cortana's for an otherwise rest day. Nice fit and feel. Fast and light. Couldn't help but push the pace. Love the shoes! Better than the Kinvara's!

20 mile ride from the Y this morning. Skipped my normal T/Th run to ride as I just got bike back from shop and wanted to ride a little before the weekend. Did the Bostcik/Prospect hill loop and had a pretty good pace going with 8 riders. Nice and cool morning. Had a couple of places to drop out but just kept going.

Thursday night time trial, plus some sort of brick run after, ideally 2 miles if the legs can handle it. Last week the calves cramped up almost immediately. I hold nothing back on the TT's.

Basic daily run after work. Keeping a slow pace as a taper the my race Saturday. Kinda funny because my pace today would be a course record time if I could hold it in the race. If I can maintain closer to a 14 minute pace I may be able to win my AG. Going steeply uphill on a singletrack trail that tops out over 14,000 feet changes everything. What is normally very slow suddenly becomes super fast.

Hot/low 80s - Sunny and windy. Crawford/Puckett/Security/Kiva/Fontaine/Grinnell/Crawford/Upton/home. Short easy effort run. Keeping it easy as a taper. Stretching afterward.
