Good morning guys!

8mile done including this decent hill x 5 (not really hill repeats because I didn't run that hard) just to make a run hilly. My fall marathon plan may be thrown totally out of the window (for a good reason - see the thread about Xterra Nat'l) but I haven't spoken to DH yet, so till then I stay with my marathon plan. Busy day ahead. DH/DS will come home from the Scout camp then we head out to Cedar Point to get together with DH's cousin's family from Chicago. Then I will come home with the kids to send them with their grandparents for a week! Ahaaa kids-free week coming up. If a decision is made to go to Nat'ls, DH/I can hit many local MTB trails together. Sounds exciting!!

Enjoy your day!

Buenos Dias!

AM - An hour on the trainer this morning, watching 2001 Ironman World Championships (Tim Deboom and Natascha Badmann were the winners), a very emotional race as it was right at 9/11 and the fact that an American won it....I was getting goose bumps watching it. I was super tired riding, probably because I didn't fall asleep until close to 11:00AM and woke up at 5:00AM. I need to get to bed earlier.

PM - A short 2,500yd swim on the schedule for today....what? Not 3,000? I am not going to argue. Hoping the weather holds up so that I can do it in the outdoor pool.

Have a wonderful day, one filled with rainbows, glitter and unicorns!

careful Julie, runnign early becomes a habit. 5+ mile conversational pace run this morning from the Y. One of the running buddies brought out the evil reflective vest. She was wearing black but it is still too early for that. Thrash day in the area but too early for the trucks.

It takes a couple weeks to get used to running in the early morning. Heck I still haven't gotten the hang of it....but it is nice to see the sunrise and be done with your workout before most people are awake! Good job and keep it up.

Good morning, TEAM LIT!

Dougie: re "I am about as non-violent as it comes." Me, too. It was funny. A few years ago while out for a solo long run early in the morning, this kid skipped from his house to the car and, without looking, reversed out of a short driveway as if a stunt car driver. He slammed the brakes just in time for me to jump out of the way. Through the back window and into the rearview mirror, I could see him looking at me. So I put my hands up, as if to ask, "Dude, what the f#$k?" He, perhaps getting up on the wrong side of the bed, jump from the car looking for a fight. As he stormed over, I said, "It's cool, man. I'm a runner, not a fighter." He mumbled something to which I replied in attempts to cool him down, "It's cool. You almost hit me. But it's cool. It happens." I played easy because I thought he'd kick my ass. Then I repeated, as if to tell him I didn't want to fight, that, "I'm a runner, man... not a fighter." He laughed. Then he matured up and said he was sorry. I was floored but didn't show it. Either way, I know he looked the next time he sped out of the driveway.

Kept the streak alive this morning with a very easy, very short run. Knee is without question getting better and more stable. Will find out more tomorrow. The good news is that I am now thinking that surgury will not be needed. Probably a torn or damaged meniscus that will heal on its own.

8 mile run with some mid-length intervals. 12'warmup, x 7' with 3' recovery (avg pace = 6:55, 6:39, 6:34, 6:37), cooldown.

Really struggled on the first one - not sure what was going on, but I was considering just scrapping the intervals after that one. But things turned around by the second one and I felt great the rest of the way.

I don't work out anymore. I just sit around wondering what kind of tides we'd have if the moon were to suddenly slip into a much closer orbit. Would we go from tides of +/- 3 feet to tides of +/- 300? That would be crazy wild.

1500 yds at lunch with 6x100 repeats in the middle - everything felt good, including the dog bite!

23 min or so of OWS in the pond down the street. Not sure I will ever get used to its weediness, but I've only swum in it twice now.

3:30 ride in 90+ heat (heat index close to 100 ) - w/ 3x30min @ Half Iron pace. Cannot wait to download my powertap, pretty sure I averaged well over 22 on the first two intervals, because almost every time I looked down I was 23-26mph. I figured out why on the 3rd interval when I reversed my course and went into the wind and uphill - but even tired and hot I still pulled out around 20 i think. However, flatted soon after. Boy THAT was fun changing a tire in that heat, on the side of new asphalt... HOT!

Rode to the YMCA down here and swam 2300 w/ 18x100 @ 1:39 pace

Then 35min back to the in laws house as a leisurely pace... but Z3 heart rate. I was tired and hot.

8 water bottles during this 5 hour jaunt.

p.s. bannon - I figured this out on my ride, the tides would rise 0.25ft for each mile closer in orbit. However, at some point Aunt Flow would be accelerated as well and the entire world would break into mass chaos and the resultant PMSfest would destroy us all. So leave the damn moon where it is. XOXO.
