Hmm, slow day in KR-land if I'm starting the daily bread thread at 8 am Chicago time.

Although it wasn't on my recovery schedule, I ran with my peeps this morning. Legs were still pretty sore, especially on the downhills and towards the end of the run, but I got it done without too much damage. 8.1 mi total.

Swim later today, probably on my own and somewhere in the 2500-3000m range.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, TEAM LIT!

Mike: Way to get back out there and work the hurt out. That's the way to do it. Really!

3 mile easy run early this morning. Might even do a social run tomorrow of slightly longer. Took a half mile to get the legs stretched for a decent pace. Tired and beat up but felt good, very good, to be alive.

Great day!

All, my calves are VERY tight, will some time on the trainer help work them out or make them worse? Thoughts?

Adam - I know quite a few runners who love to ride easy after a marathon. I rode MTB yesterday, which seemed to have helped.

7mile with DH on a beautiful day. No watch. Felt great though the quads were still tight especially on downhills. Planning to hit a singletrack later! Yipeee!

30 minutes on the trainer before work, primarily a 10 minute section that was pretty tough. 3 or 4 mile run coming up at lunchtime. 5th grade science fair after work tonight.

During my 2nd workout of the day I had a wardrobe malfunction. I was crouched down tightening up the lane line when I heard a ripping sound and felt the breeze blowing where it shouldn't. Had to drive home and pick up a 2nd swim suit.

After that, I got in 3 x (500m swim bilateral breath, 500m pull w/buoy)

Keep it together, peeps!

Hit my last key workout before Eugene today over lunch. Total of 7.5 miles with 3X1600 at 5K pace. Tough but I hit it!

52min run @ 4.5 w/ basically a 3x1mile @ just under Z5. hurt. Legs were not real pleased about that, got heavier as I went. But 9:43, 9:58, 10:17 is still pretty speedy for me so I'll take it.

2200y in the pool mid-morning. Also no swimwear malfunction.

I drained the blister on the middle toe on my right foot last night (which is to say I drained my toe) because it was just making the skin feel painfully tight...and it would throb every now and then. I swear I could feel the loose, blistered skin move around my toe during my kick. Was pleased I could heave myself out of the pool and get my legs under me without totally embarrassing myself. Felt mostly normal during this evening's dog walk. Surprisingly, getting the itch to run again. Good thing, I guess, that my coach is also my physical therapist who knows my injury history...part of my recovery is no running for 10 days minimum. I still have some tendonitis discomfort around my left ankle anyway. Why, again, did I sign up for that sprint on May 8?

Alaska Mike - that's too funny!

Late afternoon 8-miler. I think (need to check back in garmin land) I PR'd the distance on a relatively tough route. Yahoo! Started out feeling pretty awful...tight calves, dead legs, and then 1/2 mile in found my stride and was able to keep picking it up for a solid effort. One stop at the lake to take a phone picture of the baby geese - we have tons of Canadian Geese around the lake and 'tis baby season!! I love it!
