Glad to hear that Griz...keep it up.

Well calves have tightened up again since yesterday's run so if they are not better I will be skipping practice for another trot by myself.

Have a nice day everyone!

30 mins on the stepper, 30 mins on the elliptical, core exercises and some girlie push ups.

My new stairstepper is much harder than the old one! This was my first time using it since i got it, as it arrived too close to my big race.

Good job Grizzly. Slowly but surely, you are on the comeback trail.

Nice workouts merigayle and aphigirl01!

Day 1 of Carb Loading. YIPEEE! I ran 3.6 miles and as soon as I walked back into my house I was stuffing my mouth with all of the things that I have been depriving myself for the last four days. I much prefer to load than to deplete.

Of course, this means I'm actually going to run a marathon on Sunday. Though I should know better, I am getting a bit nervous.

Nice job today everyone...progressing nicely jebba.

Well practice wasn't too bad and I don't even feel like trying to deal with my coach anymore...if there's a problem I'll just head out for a run on my own. I am about 99% sure he wouldn't do diddly. Problem solved...hooray!

Started off with 5:00 run and I ran around the block about 2.25 times for 5:41 pace. Then 7x around the island. Somewhere between 250-270m in 43, 41, 40, 40, 44, 44, 40. The last 3 were backwards direction and the turns felt pretty awkward lol. Oh well...pretty windy out there too but at least the snow is melting. Heading over to Coach's for a treadmill run of about 4 or 5 miles. I'll try it without music too....GASP! Hopefully I do as good as I have been doing outside, music free runs since Sunday I believe.

Have an awesome night!

No run today. We are having, rain, ice and snow today. It's not making the conditons too bad. It's just making it a nuisance out there, and it wouldn't normally stop me.

After yesterday's adventure my right knee is a little bit sore and stiff. It's right below the knee-cap. For those of you keeping score, yes, the right knee is the bad knee (the knee that I tore a cartiledge in many years ago). However, the discomfort is nowhere near where the cartiledge damage was.

There is no swelling so I am assuming it's just sore and stiff.

So no run today.

Have a good day all.

Ice that baby up or pop some ibue EQ. Hope that gets better soon...lots of people on the track team are getting various little ailments as well. Lots of shinsplints and tight muscles.

I was suprised that after my little trail endeavor on Sunday my legs weren't sore from the unevenness and hills.

So I guess the crappy weather is indeed everywhere...things are going to get a bit better here tomorrow so hopefully same goes for the rest of you.

I took a good challenging pilates class at the Y, then swam 1700 m of breaststroke, kick, and freestyle (sprints & endurance sets). Even though I am slow I swam more than a mile tonight, and felt strong in the water.

Grizzly -- glad you are progressing.

Lofcaudio -- yummy!

Alex, what events do you run? How does your coach let you do your own thing?

jebba, you are the postpartum workout poster girl!

EQ, hope the knee feels better soon.

SGH - My coach isn't the brightest guy and trains distance people pretty much the same as sprinters, so it's not very good to be doing 100s and 200s if you're a miler/2miler. We've had 3 hard workouts this week and one rest day and tomorrow I will be skipping practice for an appointment, but if next week things don't go better, I'm doing my own thing. Oh ya, incase you missed it, I'm a miler/2 miler and occasional 800 man.

Went for a treadmill run and felt exhausted afterwards, but more mentally since I need to constantly think about stuff so I won't just shut the darned thing off. Did manage to do what I had planned. 5 miles starting at 8:00 pace and gradually increasing the pace in the last half of it. Ended up with 5 miles in about 7:50 pace for 39:10. Calves still so tight after ibue today and even more sticking so I guess it's ice time.
