Hey - September is almost half over!

Up and at 'em for an early run. Alarm went off at 4:20, but I couldn't bring myself to get up. BUT, I am up now and planning to hit the road soon.

Bad news: I woke up with a bit of a head cold. Boo.

What do you have going on today? Any fun in these parts?

I woke up at 4:20 too, but because I had a dream that Gus got hit by a car. Can anyone say paranoia?

So I got up and did the butt tape, and then ran 2 by myself, and since it was cool enough, took Gus for his first mile of the season. The bathroom thermometer said 53° outside, so I wore a short sleeve t, but man, I should have checked Dh's weather station before heading out. It said 43° (long sleeve weather for me), which is way more accurate, since the outside sensor thing isn't right up against the house.

morning all. 36 degrees and I had to scrape my windows this morning... better than my brother though, rumor has it they had snow.in.september. So not ready for winter. Hell we don't even have a furnace right now

morning.

Ran 20ish minutes this morning. I think my legs are ready to get back into training now.

Took my 7yr old nephew to the group run last night. We did a mile :) He took a break from it most of the summer, so it was awesome to get him back into running last night. Smiles the whole time. Love him. Slurpees after.

Good morning!

Today is a less busy day than yesterday. Lunch meeting and then taking the kitties to the vet for the annual once-over. And they are only 2 years old, so they still need another vaccine booster. Fun is trying to corale 30# of cat!!

And yes, fall is here... sitting in a sweatshirt and pants!

It was 86 degrees on my run yesterday, so we're not exactly ready for Winter yet here. Today is a bit cooler, though.

The forecast for Logan Utah this weekend calls for highs in the lower 70s and lows in the upper 40s. Should be nice temps for a marathon, although there's a 30-40% chance of rain Saturday morning. Oh well...

I plan on doing a couple easy miles this evening. Not much of course, though...

Fall is here today too! 59* is the high today, with a low of 37* tonight.

And did I mention that they took the kitchen door out last night and haven't put it back in yet? Fortunately we have a door from our kitchen to the dining room, so we were able to close it off somewhat.

Since it's so cool, I broke out the boots today. I am wearing a purple sheath dress with a little black sweater and black boots and a fun printed scarf!

Fun last night was DS's first modified soccer game. They lost, but he played really well. I was quite the proud momma. Tonight is the Middle School meet and greet.

Congrats to the Litchlet for his Broadway awesomeness! And I enjoyed the pet pics too. Daisy insists on having a pillow for her head. I've even caught her pulling them off the couch so she has one on the floor. Goofball.

It was 86 here two days ago, and 43 degrees this morning. I had to find DD's winter coat for an outside field trip today. Thankfully it still fit!

In fun news, today is DD's 8th birthday. She was so stinking excited this morning We'll have a small family dinner tonight and then the party with friends tomorrow night. Latest count is 20 kids. What was I thinking???

Happy Birthday Amdaughter!

LITCH, OMG, SO EXCITING!!!!! If he gets cast, please let us know, I look for any excuse to visit NY and what better one???

Slightly dreary here this morning, overcast and sort of damp. Warmish too. I took Penny out early this morning, for a longer walk than usual.

A bit of vibes if you have them...my father has to go in today for some tests, he was so anemic he had to have a transfusion yesterday, and they're going a full GI scope today. Knock wood it's nothing too serious...

I went for a check up last night, one I'd had to reschedule...my original appt was the day my mom died. Anyway...I do rather like my doc. She took my weight, looked at my chart and said, "this is understandable, you know what to do" and left it at that. Since I'm already working on it, I was good with her response. I got my flu shot, my tetanus/diptheria shot and a pretty big blood draw, 6 or 7 vials. I walked out of the appt with a bandaid on each bicep and gauze and tape in my inner elbow. Nice. :p

On nice thing about working here is there is both a very good culinary program as well as a nutrition program. So there are lots of healthy options. This morning I got a triple berry whole wheat muffin...I just checked the nutrition and it's 250 cals which isn't bad. I have some fruit with me and I brought lunch.

Going to the Sox game tonight, should be fun!

Greetings, all.

I'm back at work today after being a bit under the weather for the past 2 days. I think my mileage + insomnia finally caught up to me. Little things like Ambien, and cat-naps fueled by benadryl have helped immensely, and I'm back in the saddle today. Nice timing too, with a deep tissue massage on tap for this afternoon.

Litch - Wow.. amazing news! Woohoo!

Phdatc - how about bribing the felines into a small room with treats? (and then close the door behind them so they can't escape!) Of course, if they've already seen the kitty carriers come out from the closet/storage, you're screwed :)

Haven't yet had a chance to congratulate you, lora. You're such a rock star, lady!

Hello and welcome, ron.

Where the hell is 2oh.

Fun: booked a trip to naples for a week followed by 4 days in orlando for dh's eyeball conference. More fun? I think we will either bring the nanny with or utilize nanny services there so it'll be a real vacay. Heh.

Ok. Tons of housework, sorting, packing today. Good days, all!

oooo Litch that is super exciting news! FUN!

Envious of super cute boots outfit! I need a personal shopper. Well, and money.

I was flipping through Jack pics last night on FaceBook and oh he is so missed, I can only imagine how hard this is for kath and brian. (((((((((Kath, Brian and Gus))))))))) I'm feeling a little softer towards Pico. but he's still in big trouble - he's been bitey, he bit DS (he was sleeping on DS' feet and DS moved his foot and Pico bit, hard.) and he bit Tony, pretty savagely, and that one was unprovoked. It's not good.

I have a running date tonight, which will help get me out the door. Guys, I have no business running a freaking marathon based on this training cycle. It. Is. Pathetic. I'm hoping I can redeem myself with a Spring marathon, which means running through the winter, which I've never been good at but it would be good for me to have that Spring marathon goal to HOPEFULLY keep me running through the winter months. We shall see.

In unrelated news, I am going to a biker rally this weekend in Tomahawk. I'm waffling between being excitement and anxiety.

((((((((((30s))))))))))) just because.

Hey, friends. I went to bed last night with a creaky back, woke up this morning feeling ok, and now I can't stand, lean, walk, or much of anything else without screaming in pain. I'm waiting for a call back from the doctor's office, and I've cancelled classes. Seriously, when I got in my car this morning, I yelped because my back hurt so badly. I'm seriously listing to one side and I can't stand up straight. I also need to send an application out tomorrow, and I'm just not ready. Bah!

I have the most awesome cat carrier. I'll have to post of pic of it next time I bust it out. Of course Tubby HATES it, but whatever. Good luck Tonya. I hope both mountain lions get clean bills of health.

Moe - big vibes to your dad. Hopefully it is nothing serious. The same thing happened to my mom years ago, and for the life of me I can't recall what was causing it, but she was fine. I hope/pray your daddio is fine too. Good job on the healthier adjustments. I am doing the same thing and it isn't easy.

Amy - happy birthday to DD! I bet your dinner will be awesome. Birthdays are so much fun when you are a kid.

Kate - oh no! I hope you feel better soon. What happened to cause the pain?

Shannon - I almost broke out my boots today too!! Your outfit sounds super cute. Fashion: I NEED some new work pants. I recently had to toss my favorite ones as they were too faded and were starting to get dingy. But they fit perfect. The remaining ones I have are all a little too big and are totally unflattering. But I don't want to wear skirts everyday because that means high heels too. Not fun.

Ailarie - I am in the same boat re exhaustion. I was scheduled to run 15 today, but when my alarm went off at 4:20 again, I was thinking no way. Getting 6 or less hours of interrupted sleep each night + tons of mileage is simply not cutting it. I need to make some adjustments this week so I don't start my taper in overtrained mode. Plan is to go to bed early and sleep until 6ish. I will then do my 15 miler. That means I'll be really late into work, but there is no reason I *can't* make that happen. I'll probably have to work a bit this weekend, but that is okay. Somthing has got to give and this is my last monster training week.

bOb - That forecast does sound terrific!

Wippy - nice to have you back. Parrot food recall? That sounds funny to me (although I am sure it is not funny at all to your company). Are you enjoying the new job? 36 degrees...Yeah, it was 38 here. I am so not ready for winter. But as I was running this morning, I was hoping it would be exactly like this morning on race day!

Mindi - I have been finding most of my work pants at Kohl's. Lots of different cuts so I can usually find the best fit for me. I love personal shopping! I do this for my sisters all the time. It's almost as much fun as me buying clothes!

Litch! (I missed that news earlier) So exciting!

2oh was (still is?) on a little vacation last weekend. He's looking good, by the way (of course!) -- the cycling is treating him well, though it's still frustrating for him that he can't run. I saw him about a month ago.

Hope all is well with your dad, Moe.

I should be doing school stuff right now. My kids are writing in their journals. Thing is, I have to pee. Sorry, but I do. So I'm sitting at my desk. And this year I teach 4 classes IN A ROW. I have to figure out how to enjoy my coffee, smoothie, and water in the mornings without being able to use the bathroom for about 3 straight hours...

Morning all! Had a fun workout with the kickball team last night, did I mention I'm playing on their fall team? It's less competitive than the tournament circuit so I don't feel like a complete loser being a newbie. Anywho, my lower right leg is all bruised up from kicking a shit ton of balls, I consider it my wuss badge for never playing soccer growing up. It was fun though and I ran around all over the place like a crazy person, while it was warm & sticky there was an awesome breeze coming off the East River and a crazy, beautiful red moon!

Amy – Happy Birthday to DD!

Lots of positive vibes out to Maureen’s pops

Cats & carriers – Dillion is 50/50 with his, either goes in w/out an issue or hides under the bed whenever anything in the closet comes out (which is where his carrier is stored)
