Thursday 7/28 - FUN

Morning peeps.
 
No fun planned today, but I have a busy day at work which is always better than the alternative.
 
We interviewed 3 potential child care providers last night. They were all nice and hopefully one of them will work out.
 
Fun or not fun? Today is the last day I'll be 37

Although it'll have to wait till after the Sr Open. Going with my dad today. He should get here about 11. I'm going to suggest we do lunch before going, because the 2 round of t times doesn't start till 12:45. Going to be an interesting day - weather is supposed to suck: super humid, hot, with scattered showers. Pffththt. And the ball of my foot under my middle 3 toes is swollen and tender from the acid. Prolly not the best idea to be on it for a good chunk of the day, but oh well. It'll be fun to spend some time with my dad.
 
OH! And I got an email last night from my friend Julie (who owns one of the galleries that shows my pots); she was actually responding to an email I sent asking a bunch of kiln questions. Anyway, she has a brand new, fired only once kiln she will sell me for less than half price. And I wouldn't have to pay shipping. Definitely going to look into this.

Not much fun or un-fun to report here although the day would be a lot better if the Grilled Cheese truck would show up in Dumbo

We were theorizing that if you took mac & cheese with some jalapenos and bacon and then put that inbetween 2 slices of bread and used one of those sammich makers...
that would be awesome
 
Fun: today is my Friday
 
Not Fun: been putting off really cleaning the house because it was to be profressionally done yesterday but they didn't have us on the schedule...so now, on my vacation day I get to clean as my parents are coming in for a visit tomorrow night.

Fun: I just got back from the blood donor clinic. I got a pin that says 25 because that's how many donations I've given in my lifetime. <img alt="smile.gif" id="user_yui_3_3_0_8_131187393453413" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/smile.gif" style="width:16px;height:16px;">
 
Fun: Today is my Friday, too! I'm taking tomorrow off and we have Monday off because of a civic holiday. More fun: We're heading to Moncton to spend time with my friend and enjoy the U2 concert!
 
Fun: I have a big chunk of Skor fudge on my desk and it's deeeeelish!
 
Not Fun: I'm tired. Lena had me up between 3-5 AM last night because her belly was sore. She threw up a bit but it didn't seem like anything major. She was all chatting and raring to go this morning so I hope it was just a glitch.
 
Not Fun: My niece, who thought there might be fleas in her apartment or thought she might be having an allergic reaction to something, woke up last night at 4 AM scratching. She got up, turned the light on, and discovered a wack of bedbugs. She wrapped herself in a towel (and that's all) and ran to her friend's place. Now she basically has to dump everything because that's the only way to get rid of them. Or so I've heard. She's not impressed.

Hi all - being run ragged around work right now. Did have a pretty good egg white black bean wrap for breakfast but that thing was a lot more humongous than I thought it would be. Going to venture out for lunch (I did bring something for lunch, but a chicken burrito is just not that appealing right now)
 
Mindi - 38's a good number. Seems like things have been on the general upswing ever since I reached that age.
 
Clare - yuck...yuck...and yuck!

I just realized that tomorrow is my half birthday and I'm 6 months away from turning 35. I'm having a serious issue with that right now.

I gotta agree with Moonie. I have about 2 months left for 38 to be in the books but quite frankly, this has been one of my best years!

Howdy peeps.
 
I had a great birthday yesterday (well, AFTER I got out of the all.freaking.day "retreat" at work...good lord, can't someone just send us a spreadsheet and let us actually get some work done instead of making us sit there listening to every single dept give us the update on their year end figures????) I woke up to a card and bottle of wine on the counter from my temporary roommate. Then when I got home, there was a package from my upstairs neighbors/landlords...pink terry flipflops with detachable dust mop bottoms and a card that said, "Happy Birthday! Maureen vs Dust Bunnies!" HA! (they aren't hinting I need to keep the place cleaner, I'm always lamenting the dust bunnies are horrific in my apt.)
 
I also got a txt from The Guy with a photo of the digital clock (time and date) at the train station and the subject "Happy Birthday", which i thought was clever.
 
Then I went to meet a bunch of my friends for dinner, started out with 14, ended up with about 20 or so in the end. It was great! I had a spicy watermelon mojito, and my friend Carlos and I shared a bunch of food, which I always like.

then my friend Jess and I headed down the Cape around 10:30pm, got here at midnight or so, and now I'm typing from my sea-scented room on the beach.
 
Oh and I turned 43, so no complaining you whippersnappers!
