Well, I'm gonna go for 5 or so after my dentist appt. As long as my teeth don't hurt too much, or my pride isn't too damanged after getting yelled at about not flossing enough...

Have a great day, all...

I've got 5 later today, after my fitness club with the kids. I got a pedometer so we can see how far we walk

Good Morning,

The weather is still nice and chilly here! It's 38 outside now, but I'm sure it'll warm up fast. Two whole days without the a/c on, my electric bill is happy...

I wanted to get in another longer run today, but I don't think my knee will cooperate. It's been kind of funky/sore on and off for a week or so and is pretty tender this morning. I'll probably just do a sloooowwww recovery run of 6 or so, I hate to waste this weather, though.

The odd thing is, it didn't hurt at all when I ran in the "racing shoes" for two days and now after yesterday in my Trances it is sore again. They only have 200 miles or so on them, so they should be fine still...I don't know what's up. I think it must have gotten a little messed up from the decline party on the TM last week, I guess no more of that until next week.

Have great runs today, everyone!

Hi all -

Imposing a rest day today - not because it's redonkulously cold out, but still feeling pain in that one spot on my leg this morning. I'm inclined now to think this is a tendon problem, based on the specific pain point I'm experiencing. So I'm RICEing and am thinking I will have to avoid most cardio activity for a few days, unless I can make time for a swim or something.

I guess I should call a doctor or someone, eh? Like, before the pain is faded again, to get a proper inspection...

Sigh...good runs - STAY WARM! - and healing to all!

(PS - nice to see you back, Coach!)

Damn Tim!!! Now, I'm feeling REALLY bad about my tempo runs, that's very impressive. You are going to have an awesome marathon!

Hey all:

Great rehab run last night. I planned on getting on the mill and just running until the shin started to hurt - that's been about 4 miles lately. Last night I just rolled right on up to 8 and just kinda figured that was enough for now. Also I've been playing with my HRM. More data. Yummy. Run.txt is going to need an upgrade.

8 miles @ 8:30/m 126 avg hr.

Tonight more of the same.

TimR - Nice run!

Noni - Where is the pain? I thought you were dealing with a calf strain?

JenRuns - Sometimes flats will do that to me too. I've considered shifting to a lightweight trainer when I start in season work so the difference between the shoes is less. I don't really know why my legs do that either.

Today is a great day to rest so no running for me.
I stopped for coffee on the way in this AM and I think it got cold by the time I got back to my car...it's that cold out.
I hope to hit the gym on the way home, wade through the New Years Resolutes to do my core workout. I think they should rent a tent every year for the month of January and let the short-timers have that space. Once they're gone (~30 days), fold up the tent and pack it away.
/gym snob
I take it everyone else's gym is jammed for the month of January?

Jen, please put some extra postage on that warm weather you're supposed to be sending up to us. It's supposed to hit early/mid next week...I think we're all looking forward to it.

here's the view out my cubicle window.

I'm going to use the exercycle after work today. I don't want to have to worry about an insulin pen freezing while running at the park. This predicted cold weather for today was one reason why I elected to run 11 miles on Tuesday.

Hey, all--

I started the new year with a cold, so I've been engaging in snuggling under blankets. I don't think that burns too many calories. If I feel ok today, I might do an evening yoga session.

For all of you struggling with injuries, here's a timely NYT article.

Have a good one, everyone!

Could be worse. Now when I go to the dentist, the hygenists always comment how clean my teath are, and that there is nothing to do. But I still always need work done. Combo of genetics, poor habits as a kid, and un-fluoradated water.

I get my coffee at a drive through, and I am usually one of their first customers of the day. The drive through window was frozen shut this AM, so they waved me around to come on in.

5 east on the TM. Nothing exciting.

4 miles scheduled for today/tonight at some point.

My kids got a Wii for Christmas and my shoulders hurt from playing it so much. I didn't realize how outta shape my upper half was until I took up Wii boxing and Wii tennis.

Have a great day all.
