Good morning! Just finished up yesterdays posts. I swear when I don't feel like moving out of my bed reading everyones workouts gives me a real kick in the butt. Richard, enjoy your 12 later.

Yesterday was off because my legs were a bit tired from Tuesday's 60 min kickboxing followed by 30 min run. Did some upper body weights.

I'm off to work now for my first speed workout in a month Calls for 2x10 min at slightly faster than goal half marathon pace (normally 8.2mph on the treadmill but today will be keeping it around 7.8mph)-- 3 min recovery jog in between. Will hopefully check in later to report. Grad school has been keeping my evenings busy.

Enjoy the day everyone!

Richard, enjoy those 12 miles and Liz, your speed workout.

I'm scheduled for a tempo run this afternoon, about 6 miles at Tempo pace. I'll aim to come back and report about it. That is the longest I've ever intended to hold that pace when not racing, for sure. It will be a good challenge.

I wonder if anyone knows the answer to what I asked yesterday, about how long it generally takes to receive shipping from brooksrunning.com? I'm trying to decide if I should get another new pair of shoes in the interim.

Good morning all.

Richard - have a great workout!

Liz - Enjoy those speed workouts.

SGH - have a good run later. I just recieved my shoes from brooksrunning.com. I ordered them about a week ago, so they came pretty quick. Once they shipped they sent me an email with the tracking information.

I didn't get a chance to post my run yesterday - easy 6.4 miles in ~49mins (inc WU&CD)most at 7:30mpm but finished a little faster. Felt very relaxed and HR well under 140.

Pre-VRAA rest day today. May do some core/weights but no running.

Richard - enjoy the 12 I wish I had a group to run with on a regular basis.
Liz - speedwork, sweet.
SGH - have fun on the tempo run. I switched mine to tomorrow, for the sake of VRAA

Glad to see you back Tazz, Mikey, Lizz, and anyone else who is getting back into the swing of things once again.

Nice recovery run and I think I'll go as short as possible since yesterday's workout bumped me up on mileage more than I though and I don't want to be too much over 40mpw, especially with an increase in intensity.

Have a great day everyone.

Pretty busy at work today, so I don't have time to comment on everyone right now, but it looks like some good work is on tap for everyone today.

Decided to take it really easy yesterday and today since I don't have a lot of easiness worked into my plan for the next month or so. Did 6 slowly yesterday, and I have no specific mileage goal in mind for tonight. I'll just start running, and stop when I feel like it.
On another note- my old high school is as far as it's ever gone in the division 3 Ohio basketball tournament with a win last night. They're going to play the Regional final game in my College Alma Mater's gym on Saturday, so I'll have to see if I can get tickets. I might even keep stats at the game for old time's sake...

Richard, you always do my favorite thing--the long run.

Liz, so glad you're getting back to it. I know that feeling of coming back, and it's tough. It's all about the mind...

SGH, what is your MP for Boston?

Dave, see, I told you! See what being patient will do for you?

RunAsics, you always do such quality workouts. I'm jealous.

Alex, I could learn a thing or two from you and your mpw.

Mailbox, have fun with your spontaneous run later...

Dan, have a nice 6-er.

I never came back and posted my run from last night. I guess I'll do so now. I told myself I would do 8+ miles yesterday at my "easy" pace, right? Well, after two miles I decided to see what I had in me. I picked up the pace to 6:00, but found that was a bit difficult after not doing some speedwork for a couple of weeks. So the run went something like this--

2 miles @ 7:53
800 @ 6:00
200 @ 7:53
800 @ 6:00
200 @ 7:53
800 @ 6:03
200 @ 7:53
800 @ 6:03
200 @ 7:53
800 @ 6:03
200 @ 7:53
800 @ 6:03
2.81 miles @ 7:53

Total for the run - 9.06 miles, 1:10

So, there you have it. Today is definitely an easier day.

Good morning and good running (and swimming) all.

Did 65 mins on the trails this morning - still messed up from my sickness so still going pretty slow. After much exploring, I think I've worked out a new regular route for my trail runs.

Tonya-- That is close to the same pace I am suppose to run 800's, but I don't do as many repeats. I would probably do more if the I was training for a longer race though. I also did speed work yesterday and knocked out a 21:21 5k tempo run. 10 seconds faster than scheduled pace and I feel I could have gone longer. Great job on the speed work.

Good morning everyone. I have 5 miles scheduled for today and then 8 miles for tomorrow. Then most likely no running over the weekend as I will be get my weekly mileage in by friday.l There are some nice runs and swims so far this morning. Keep up the great work.

SGH--did you get an email when you placed your order? At the bottom, there's a link you can click to track your order. Mine's still "checking inventory", which scares me since I ordered a discontinued model...

Great runs/planned runs all!

I actually got to sleep in this morning!!! Except, at 5:15 hubby got up and turned on the friggin' light! HE was going to the gym and wanted me to know. ARG!!!!!!!!!!! I lounged in bed (never got back to sleep...) until 6:30, then dragged butt and headed out for my run at 7:30.

Did my neighborhood route. It's a horse shoe shaped route that is (almost) exactly 2m end to end. Add from my house to the closest end, and it's a nice ~4.5m run. I did it twice, going to the end to get the full last mile. It was enjoyable because I rarely get to run this anymore. And doing it twice wasn't that bad. My splits were all over the place, which is quite disappointing. But, this training pace is exactly what I need to BQ. Now all I have to do is hang onto it for all them thar 26.2m... 9.25m, 1:20:52, 8:44pace.

Yes, I saw that Kevin. I even mentioned it to Phillip, that you are getting a lot better. Nice job! And that says something for me, doesn't it? That everyone seems to be catching up with me?

Great running all! Now I'm wishing I had something planned for today...

Thanks but hark who's talking! Considering that my mileage is considerably lower than yours and many others, I need to make up the difference somehow. Basically it's whatever gets the job done. I'm actually looking forward to testing myself with some marathon training. This board is quite an inspiration for that. Well I say that now... I may be cursing you guys in August!
