Recovery day for me too. 6 miles at 9:44 min/mile pace. Average HR 127.

This was a wind chill advisory morning so I pulled the long sleeved stuff out of storage today. The temperature was fine (49) but the 30 mph North wind made it a chilly one (for us Fla. wimps!).

Yesterday, I finally went and got myself a hearing test to once and for all determine what I can hear and what I can't. It turns out I have issues with High-frequency sounds - like Garmin beeps, high-pitched Goddess squeals, and the like. So if you're going to post something for me to read, make sure it's not high-frequency.

Excellent news, Hally!

Breger, we were in FL in Dec 2006 and laughed over the convenience stores selling those little packets of hand and foot warmers when the temp was probably 50 or more.

Millbot, how are you feeling?

44 deg
13 mph wind
I ran 5 miles this morning. One of my toes really bothered me for the first mile or so. It initially felt electrical and then turned to a sharp pain. Tried walking a bit, adjusted my sock, massaged the toe, but finally just had to run through it. The final miles it felt fine. Weird. Nevah had that happen before.

Pilates and yoga later today.

Hey all y'all.

Good news, hally!

Wind chill advisory... that's a new one to me. Glad you survived that arctic blast, Bill.

I'm taking another day off work. My cough is not as painful this morning, so I think I have turned a corner. RHR is still sky high.

Good running/resting/crud-avoidance to you all.

Just a quickie workout for me today ~ 30 mins on the elliptical and some weightlifting (upper body), about 15 minutes. I got involved talking to another woman about her recent eye lift. She looks very natural and rested. The plastic surgeon did a great job and she looks fantastic. The woman is 5 years older than me.....I need to keep the surgeon's name on hand for the future!

Good Morning Folks! Cheryl was that the new wave big hair? Mike hope you get over the crud soon.

I am very sore in the lower calve area from yestardays short cadence run. Probably did it right this time. Hope an adaptation comes with that. My biggest problem with this right now is controlling stride length, hopefully that will come with time. Is there a specific training that would help with that?

That's greta news, Hally!

19 degrees here this morning, with a fresh 1" of powder on the side streets, slush on the main ones. 8 surprisingly sproinky miles in 1:06:54, 8:21 pace. This is my 5th day of running w/o a break - unusual for me. I have to remember to test myself once in a while. Sometimes I can surprise myself!

Good runs all,
Hope you are well soon Mill!

I ran 7 slow miles on the TM last night. Even took a walk break at mile 3.75. Total time was 71 min or so. Cold/flu-like feeling is back. Throat dry and scratchy, sinuses congested. yuck. Today will be a rest day - drinking lots of tea, taking sinus meds, hopefully I'll be fine by the wknd.

I just went to Post Race Tent and can't find the thread about dtoce. Any suggestions?

Also hugs to Tamster -- hope you feel better soon! This creeping crud stuff has been lingering....everyone seems to have gotten the flu this year.

We love kewl CAT scans

Hand and toe warmers in FL!!!!!!!!! I may put them in my back pockets. Ohter than that, they're a bother on the run.

I may want the plastic surgeon's name too Susan.

The dog and I put in 8.11 miles. The dog was starting to drag around mile 7, then a rodent ran across the road and she picked up her pace(translation : she about yanked me out of my shoes). I've tried to teach her to whiz on electric fences. I thought it would be funny, but she just doesn't get it. When I demonstrated, I didn't care for the results. Stoopid dog.

Hi everyone!

21 miles in cold, very windy conditions.

I work part time so always do my long runs on Thursday, leaving Sunday for a MLR.

dtoce----I read your post on RA about long runs. I sometimes find alot of the training talk too complicated for a simple minded, average runner like me who just wants to try to improve. I found your post to be very straight forward; the concept easy.

So I'm happy to say on today's run, miles 7, 8 and 9 were faster paced. Also the last 5 miles were 8:58,8:37, 8:32, 8:16 and 8:01!!! Was it hard? yes! I so wanted to slow down and coast home, but kept telling myself it would be worth it to keep pushing. I'm so glad I did!

Happy Thursday all!
