I hate wind, too, 2oh.

Woke up early again, about 4:15. So I've already done the weighted pull ups, barbell overhead presses and then I added in some sets of hang cleans with a light weight to practice the form.

I hope it won't be too windy later on today. Plan is to go and run about 6.5 miles which put me up over 100 miles in a month for the first time, not bad considering it's a short month too.

This post #3000 for me.

Good morning, Scratch. Wow, I don't know how you can get up so early every day. And congrats on reaching 3000 posts. I'm not even at half that...

I guess my news is that I registered for a couple of races last night: a 20k in Newark NJ on Mar 9 and a HM in Danbury CT on Apr 6. I know Litch is also doing the Danbury HM, so I look forward to seeing him there.

I also noticed that they have the "Stratton Faxon Distance Challenge", in which they give awards to the three lowest combined times in each age group for people who run the Danbury HM, plus a 5-miler in Branford on Jun 15, the Fairfield HM on Jun 22, and the New Haven 20k on Sep 1? I'm already planning on doing the New Haven race, so maybe I should consider doing the other two as well.

Heck, how many people are actually going to run all four races? Maybe I'll actually have a shot at getting one of these age awards, even if I don't come close to the top 3 in any individual race -- just because there might only be a handful of people who qualify for this. That's the dream, anyway...

Ohbytheway, today is a day off from running for me. I might take the day off completely and not do any fitness activities. Umm, we'll see...

There, I just post-whored a little, to get my pathetic post count up a bit...

I think I have 9 on the schedule for later today. Easy pace. Hopefully today will be a less-eventful day than yesterday...

Morning folks. Not even had time to read either thread this week. Just dropping in to say "hi" as I got a wakeup call from work (couldn't call the oncall, 'cause "we didn't have time and we knew you could fix it fastest" at 4:30. 5:15 now and so I decided to go get my 9 mile run in. Shooting for 7 at M pace. I think that might be my longest at that pace, so we will see how it goes.

a groggy good morning. I am sore from my recent workout comeback tour. I am about to get my cross training, abs and push ups out of the way before work.

Happy workouts to you all.

Good morning everyone. I'm off for another run in a little bit.

prae ... you'll be running the Pgh Marathon in '09 even though you'll be living in Missouri? If that's the case, you can count me in. I will join you.

Good Morning!

I haven't totally decided on what I'll do today. I should do my Sunday long run as the weather is great, but I have to see how the much zip there is in the legs once I get going. The weather here today is the best it's been all winter. 50's-60's...I hate to waste that!

Have great runs today, everyone!

Getting ready for work... I've got 5 easy scheduled for today, but I might run 7 just to push me over 200 miles (I'm at 194.7 now).

New water heater being installed today - wow, I hate spending that much $ on something as unexciting as a water heater! But, when my 2 daughters are older, no doubt the bigger water heater will come in handy.

Hoping to get in a decent run after that - I feel pretty good after the tempo run yesterday and the wether - while wicked cold - is very nice.

Prae Have you heard any more news about Pgh 2009 definitely being on? That SUCKS that it's probably the same weekend as the Pig. If one were Sat and the other Sunday that would be a cool challenge.

And on another Pittsburgh note - please remove your caps for a moment of silence for the late Myron Cope. Rest in peace...yoi.

Have a great day!

Yea! It would be so awesome if another 30 were running this, too! I am absolutely running my first marathon in Pittsburgh because this is where I started running. I've had this marathon in my sights ever since I found out they were starting it back up, but. . .

I still haven't heard when exactly it's going to be. Every time I try to find a hard date, I just get old stories about them postponing it from this year. Pacer, are you trying to tell me that 'Nati wins out over The 'Burgh?!?!? I guess you don't bleed black and gold.

Don't be putting words into my mouth, woman!! I'm not committing one way or t'other. If the finish is on the hallowed grounds of the Steelers, that may be a clincher for me (and of course, I'd have to wear some Steeler clothing during the race...I could maybe take the top spot in the Eye Black division!). But it would be awfully hard to pass up the Pig since I know so many people in the race every year and it is a Clif Bar race. We'll see - I would probably try to talk my BiL out of marathon retirement to run Pittsburgh (he's from North Hills).

Hey all:

5 easy this morning. Good runs today everybody.

PC - We all know that deep down you're a Bungles fan now. If you do Pgh, you'll need to do it in a Carson Palmer jersey.

So - my running buddy kicked my ass last night and we did our 4 miles in 43:57!!! Over 2 minutes faster than last week!!!!! And, I didn't die doing it!!!

Was going to swim today but woke up with some sort of really sharp rock at the base of my windpipe and it's sticking into my lungs, well, at least the parts of my lungs that I have not yet coughed up this morning. What the hell? Yesterday I was FINE!! Today - B informs me that with the cough and the rest of it starting the way it is, this is most likely influenza. Pardon me?!?! What the fuck?!?! Gah.

Morning all! The dang wind is whipping around like a mother, I bagged the a.m. run and brought my gear w/me to work for a p.m. TM run. Will make it a longer progression and/or fartlek followed by another volleyball game (we had to make up for last week's holiday).

2oh - I need to run with you! Cussing out the wind is one of my most favorite things to do. Well that and to put the humble back into dumbass drivers ...but I digress

boB - cool concept, I'd totally go for it. Plus it'd give your parents more opportunities to hang w/Jillian.

Three or four miles on the schedule today. Supposed to be three, but doesn't seem worth the effort to lace up the shoes to run three miles.

I've been hoping they would bring that marathon back. That was going to be my second marathon, but that was the year, if memory serves, they stopped having it. My family is all around there, so I'd definitely be doing that one!

Double yoi.

Might even have to wear my Troy Polamalu jersey. People might think I'm actually him!
