Yay it's back! (at least for now).

Today was supposed to be a speed workout, but I gave blood yesterday and am still recovering. So I cut the planned 4 x 1/2 mile down to 2 x 1/2 mile with plenty of rest between. Total miles: 3.5.

Followed that with upper body weights and 175 varied crunches. Yowch my abs hurt.

RichardC, that sounds like fun last night.

jensparks, sounds like you played it smart. My abs hurt for you!

I did a 40 min. run of unmeasured distance in 19 degrees here in Fargo-Moorhead (jealous, Arrojo?). Mostly I stuck to the cleared roads, but a few sections were some good challenges for my stabilizing muscles with packed slippery snow. I was completely toasty in wind resistant pants, a base long-sleeve, fleece top, hat and gloves. It was a fun and invigorating change, that's for sure.

Tonight I'm taking a yoga class at the Y which will probably kick my butt.

Still sticking with easy running for now, so not much exciting to report. Hope everyone's runs are going well.

Hi all.

I think most of us have moved back to Coolrunning?Active since this sight has been down. Hopefully KR gets the kinks out of whatever has been going on here. I think I will double post for now and see where most of the old CR group ends up. I don't care either way since I didn't use the running log at CR.

Anyhow, 500 Meters in the pool this morning. 5 X 100 meter sprints with one minute recovery.

right after did 10.5 miles on the bike. 18.7 MPH average speed.

Happy training all.
David.

4.4 miles this morning in the cool dark. My paces have been slow this week and I expect that will continue until New Years when I can begin running with more consistency again. I will be intermittent with posting until then also, but I'll be thinking of y'all.

Hey, good to be back. I've been back to CR the past few days. The dust is starting to clear a bit in the transition aftermath and things are getting a little better. I have to admit there are actually some good things about the new CR. But there are also some features here at KR that I like and which CR still doesn't have. So I'll probably continue to post both here and there for the near future.

On to the other news...big news for me is I am officially in for Boston 2008! I received confirmation from BAA today. Definitely excited to know that I will be going after all as a qualifier.

Run today -- 5 miles, 37:47 (7:33/mile). Fast for a run that was supposedly an easy run. I would say the post-Charlotte marathon recovery seems to be coming along quite nicely. Great day for a run in Northern VA -- 45F, sunny with a little wind; luckily I threw my adidas windbreaker vest on over my shirt so I was comfortable.

Just got back from my run of 5 miles in 42:49. I could see the cold front/snowstorm coming at the start and now I think we have a blizzard outside. It got bad right as I got home. 41/ wind chill of 35 and snowing pretty good. If Billyvt is out there I am up for the challenge. The stupid coolrunning is giving me a fit for logging in. rotest: Have a great night everyone.

Richard, I am in a 25 meter pool! Once summer gets here I can move to a 50 meter pool. I have been doing a one min rest between sets. I am new a swimming, at least when it comes to training to compete. I grew up swimming virtually all my life, but never for competition. So any pointers anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.
