Too tired, achy and lazy to get out of bed this morning. I just have no motivation. Perhaps it's the thought of spending 8+ hrs on a plane with our toddler this weekend?

FB - fingers crossed on the weather and Christmas list. I have mixed emotions about my new TV. The old one was a Sony flat screen tube - it had a great picture. There was nothing wrong with it other than being analog and weighing a metric ton. The new one is a 40" LCD w/LED backlighting, also Sony. The picture just isn't as good across the spectrum of colors and dark scenes are sometimes poor, even after adjusting picture settings. Odd as it looked great in the store and the reviews were glowing.

BBS - hope you get your 5'er on.

Dan - snap on the tired and achy. I have a major case of DOMS, in addition to motivation issues. Who knew I was so out of shape...

Rainy BBS? lucky!

Rest up Dan and Asics, sounds like you guys need it.

Another 1-3 inches of snow and another 5 easy on the mill. As far as Christmas lists, not much from me much to the dismay of my mother who's always begging me to come up with stuff for her to buy. If I could ask for about 20 pounds of weight loss, I'd do it, but I'll stick with a random assortment of running and cycling clothes and a new MP3 player.

Good morning everyone as it is still morning here. I did no running. I am taking a rest for this week and next week to let my legs and such rest. Sore calves last night and today and they feel fatigued. I guess it is better to just rest than risk getting an injury. I did do some stretching and icing today.

Hey all, time for another fly-by.

Winter wonderland here in VA. It started snowing about 9:20 am, as I was just walking into the office and it hasn't stopped yet. No workday run planned for me, as I'm completely stacked up with meetings through 6pm, but when I headed out to the nearby Subway at lunchtime I did see one guy out there. Was kinda jealous, it actually looked like fun...it's the part after the storm leaves -- ice, black snow plowed up 5 ft. high onto the sidewalks so that you can't run on them, etc. -- that sucks.

Anyway, I guess I'll be back to the TM this evening. BTW I did make it to the track last night but too late to get in on the Christmas Relay fun. So I did my own thing, one of my old favorite ladder workouts -- 200, 400, 600, 800, 600, 400, 200. With 27/windy conditions and the extra layers, the times not surprisingly were a little off: 43, 87, 2:17, 3:02, 2:16, 88, 39. Oh well, it's in the books. Recovery run tonight with probably some weights thrown around as well.

Nice running, resting and hope everyone's coping with the weather.

Well, I was bored so ran 5 miles on the TM. Bizarre that I'd choose the boredom of running on a TM in a basement over work. Actually, stretching afterwards helped with the DOMS. Got a massage tonight.

Mailbox - but it's all muscle, right?

kfuller - wise move.

Hawk - nice job slacking on the track

Late day post. Turned into an unscheduled rest day. Dragged my carcass out of bed at 6:30 to make sure son2 and 3 were up and getting ready for school. Attempted to wake son1 so we could head to the gym. He suggested sleeping in a bit and going for a mid-morning workout. Sounded good to me so I went back to bed. Woke at 9am. Okay, mid-morning wasn't going to work. Early afternoon? Ops, 3:00 meeting so that didn't happen. Oh well, guess I needed a rest day.
