Good Morning!

TM run this morning. Warmed up for 1m then started 1/2m intervals. About a minute into my second one, the TM powered off

Not sure what happened, jumped off, turned it off, unplugged it, plugged it back in and turned it back on and thankfully, it was back on. So, I had to start the 2nd interval all over. I ended up with 4 x .5 and then did 2 x 1/4. Finished up with 6 miles.

Enjoy your Thursday! The weekend's almost here!

Opie, your pace is getting faster. When is your next race?

Erika, great run last night. Way to persevere.

Heme, good luck with increasing your weekedays miles! How was it dealing with the Belgians?

Irunmike, thanks for warm welcome back poise the other day! It is good to be back.

It is. This month is the fastest average pace in the last year, which could possibly mean the fastest ever. Brooke has me scheduled for another tempo run tomorrow, and I need to shoot her an e-mail. I realized last night that I've been running them too fast to be considered tempo runs, almost all out like a 2-mile time trial, so I need to run the next one faster or slower. I'll be running a Turkey Trot Thursday, a 5k just for fun. I don't think I'm in PR territory yet.

Lunch run today. I was tired & felt like sleeping in!

eta-mcsolar, I think you predicted Haile's "retirement" announcement wouldn't stick. You were right. He just announced his next race will be the Tokyo marathon in February.

Morning all. Yes it's good to see Kerry posting and running again.

Opie - you can turn off the wind maching up there now. We've had enough for one day; thank you very much.

ez 5.75 miles this morning (can't complain about the weather as I consider what Erika runs in) but a few were wearing gloves this morning for the first time. 5.75 on tap for tonight.

Morning, Pink!

Hi Opie and KS!!!

Mari, too (how could I miss you in there!!) The Belgians came thru for me in spades!

That's annoying when TMs do that, especially in the middle of an interval. We had one at work that would cut out at unexpected times and plaster you into the control panel if you were doing any kind of speed at all. I think they found out it was a problem with the sensor not detecting the runner on the belt or something like that.

I got to work extra early and did an easy 6 miles on the side streets before the sun came up..... 5°C and drizzly. DH would have been happy.. I was wearing my yellow reflective cycling jacket, ankle reflector and a head lamp!

I'm thinking that maybe I can do mornings more often....early's not usually my thing, but I like when it gets lighter as I go.

Have a fabulous day!

Good Morning.

I am off from running today and good thing because it's cold and windy out there today. Our place looked like a tornado went through with all the high winds we had in the middle of the night. I hate wind. We have too many very tall and bendy trees and the high winds freak.me.out. And of course, the high winds always seem to come in the middle of the night when you can't see anything. you just hear branches hitting the house.

Having DirectTV installed today. We've had Dish for years. We decided to finally step it up a few notches and get a two room set up, DVR, HD. We are now at the point where DS wants to watch one thing and DH another. Poor mom still doesn't get to watch anything I want, but I'd be content not even having a TV, so doesn't really matter. Of course, now we are also in the market for a HDTV so we can actually take advantage of HD.

snow predicted for the weekend - but thankfully not until a bit later on Saturday and into Sunday, so I think the HM on Saturday a.m. will be okay. Although I'm hoping for no rain either. If we are going to have precip, I'd rather have snow then rain though. See, I'm easy to please. And once the HM is over, I'm pretty much done with races for a few months. Except for a 2 mile TT, but that's just for fun anyways.

Hi everyone

2 miles on the boardwalk this AM. Windy but not very cold at 48. Beautiful red sun coming up, looked like it was coming right up out of the ocean.

Trying to get out earlier so I can go a bit farther but it's not working out that well :D

Good Afternoon Kicksters,

I'm really enjoying Opie's enthusiasm lately. Finding another gear is always fun.

Yes, TM's are a necessary evil. Xcountry skiing is a greta idea, SS! I bet I could find my old skis in the garage somewhere. But I can't do that right from my house so it'll prolly not happen much.

Erika, I am totally innocent! And straight. I'm just saying -2F is not gonna ever happen to me.

I still want to know where Ribs is.

Hi Pink!

90 minutes in the gym today working all the parts. Going longish tomorrow.

Coming soon to a theatre near you: "Zen and the Art of the 5-Mile Easy Run," by Karl Rysted, soundtrack by mcsolar, filmed on location by Gobi in France and on the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon course by Paul. (I say France because as you know if you've run to solarmix 7, it has quite a bit of French lyrics).

sounds like a good run opie. and nope, i thought haile was sincere... looks like he joins the jordan/armstrong/farve club now.

7.5mi sabino canyon, 8 avg pace. slower going up, faster coming down.

at mile 1.5 a big bobcat ran across the road about 50 feet infront of me. it hid in the bushes near the road for a while and i stopped so we could both look at each other for a bit. then it made its way down the canyon, probably looking for breakfast.

more miles later, since once is not enough on thursdays...

Heh, Opie.

Cool on the 'cat sighting, mc.

Heme, yeah, you sure have a busy day, so I can see why you have to deal with TM torture. 2-hour commute sounds just . When I lived in the big city (though not remotely as big as yours), I had to find my way up and over to Cypress Mt where they had lights on the X-country trails. It was a great place to be week nights, not so busy and kind of pretty when the snow was falling.

I was trying to save you from the TM too, irun. I'd do anything to avoid that thing.

9+ miles. Felt pretty darn good too.

ETA: Tammy, no, didn't know there was such a feature.

when you are on the main homepage of KR, there is a banner up top that highlights some different features here and one of them is advertising the new chatroom feature. If you click on that news feature, it brings you to the link to get to the chatroom. I believe Rich is working on getting a direct tab link that will be more noticeable/visible. I haven't checked it out yet (well, I was just in there to make sure I was getting there correctly, but it's an empty room at the moment. no chandeliers, fuzzy rugs or nada.

I totally need a chat room right now! Too chicken (bok bok!) to run outside here in Alexandria. Injured anyway, and I don't wanna traipse through the lobby in my running clothes to get to the fitness room, either.

weh, weh! Off I go to the fitness room, and when I come back, I'm going to find a chat room to get whacked upsida head for doing all this whining.
