Got my run in and now I gotta get ready for daughters award ceremony then work. 5.2 warm humid sweaty miles at a 9:32 pace. Rumor has it more seasonable temps are coming this weekend. I hope so.

Humid, sweaty miles is right! We've got 100% humidity up here in PA right now.

12 miles, 8 at tempo pace, and despite the humidity I did better than my planned pace. Woot! One more long run and then on to taper.

Nice job this morning FB.

Nice sweaty miles FB.

Great tempo Jill!

I was running late, so just did 8 miles on the canal path.

Heading down to VA tomorrow -- so may not be around here for a while. My brother seems pretty optimistic about the MCM (despite being on the under-trained side of things). Hawk that would be great if we could meet up after the race -- but don't know if you'll still be around -- will probably be a 4-5 hour finish time for us...

FB - Good one + congrats to your daughter

Jill - Sweet, sounds like a great confidence builder. What's the plan for the last long run?

loopy, good luck to you and your brother this weekend!!

zrun, the plan is 24 miles. No cares about pace, especially after this week's double workout. I need to keep a little in the bank for next weekend's 10 mile race. We shall see.

Humid? what's that FB? Nice run.

Awesome run Jill.

Hope MCM goes well Loopy.

Glad you're starting to feel better Dan.

Another day, another easy 8 for me. My knee started to bark a bit at the end, so I think it's time to re-retire my shoes. Nike seems to have stopped making my shoe that I've worn 20+ pairs of during the last 3 years and I've been holding out hope that they were just out of stock the last few times I checked. And I was hoping I could single-handedly keep that shoe line going.

Fly-by for now. After a rough start to the morning, off to the gym. 2500m in the fishbowl. Certainly felt yesterday's yard work!

Nearly got creamed on the way home. Had to stop for gas after dropping son1 at school. Gas station is on the corner and it was pretty busy making it tough to make a right turn out of the drivewya. Finally, a FedEx truck stopped just before the driveway so I could sneak in as the light was turning red. I was stuck half in the driveway, half in the road but at least I made my turn. A guy in a BMW decided he didn't want to wait or something, so he whipped around on the left side of the FedEx truck and back into the right lane. Uh, yah, exactly where I was sitting. No contact, but I got a very clear view of his front bumper. What is with people?!

FB- Hope you get those cooler temps. They'll be here in the morning for us

Jill- Nice job in that humidity

Loopy- Good luck to yall this weekend

zrun- enjoy the rest, don't work too hard

Dan- Youre almost there... I can sense it

MBH- Bummer bout the shoes... maybe its time for a change tho

4BM- At least you were in a vehicle, I'm always worried about getting creamed while running

I am about to head out for my run.... either 7 w/ 5 @ HM pace, or 9 GA miles....hmmm. Think I'll go to the farms in Memphis so I can stop by the local running store and stock up on some GUs.

I got out for 10.3 miles this morning. 41F with 30mph wind gusts. Sweet! Actually it wasn't bad since the majority of the miles are through the forest preserve and somewhat sheltered. My hip (abductor) felt better once I warmed up. I skipped track last night as I didn't want to do anything stupid. Played with DD instead. Drove FIL to the hospital this morning - he's getting a spinal tap. I told him to have the doctor turn it up to 11.

BBS - nice plan. Run to store, get GU, run home.

4boysmom - Yikes. Interestingly, a guy in a 5 series beamer pulled out in front of me without looking. Must be something in the air.

Mailbox - nice job of the 8. Hopefully you can find you're shoe in the bargain bin or get a decent replacement

Dan - better is good

zrun - enjoy the work (oxymoron?)

Loopy - it's a banner day! I ran your 10! Is your brother at least buying you a beer after the pacing job?

Jill - Holy cow, you're on fire! Enjoy the 24 this weekend. I have to admit that I'm considering doing such runs if I decide to run another marathon.

FB - nice job in the humidity.

Morning all,

Busy group this morning. I've got some meetings at work today so I didn't bother packing a bag for a run. Most likely I'll get on the bike or elliptical this evening.

Only 3 days until the final tuneup race. I'm hopeful I've got a 39-40 minute 10k in me...that would be just fine with me. Interesting note about the MCM 10k...perhaps because it's the baby sibling of the feature event, based on the results of previous years, the finishing times are not what you'd expect from a "big" event. Based on 2009, if I run anything under 42:00 I'll probably place in the 45-49 AG.

FB - good job this morning, hopefully lower humidity is coming

Jill - sounds like a smart way to do that 24; that's how I did my final LR two weeks ago, too...nice and easy. You're ready for Philly, I'm just not sure they're ready for you.

loopy - I was wondering what your pace goal was for Sunday...yeah, I don't know that I can stick around that long. My SIL has been in town this week and Sunday is also her day to fly back home. So I may need to just run the race, do my cooldown, get changed and hit the metro before it gets too crowded. Not sure yet, but I'd like to hit the expo tomorrow, if I can escape work early enough. Maybe between 5-7 (closes at 7)?

zrun - enjoy the rest day, if you can call it that.

Dan - keep getting better. No backsliding, OK?

MB - What Nikes do you wear? I used to be a big Nike guy but got frustrated with their continual changing out of shoe models. I still wear the Free 5.0...oops, they just discontinued them now too, replaced them with something called the Free Run. Grr..

4bm - you would think somebody driving a beamer would want to take better care of it

BBS - Gu? Yeah right, you just want some some good Memphis BBQ. Enjoy the tempo run.

RA - winds like that will certainly have you ready to run in Indy. If that's the one you're doing.

I swear.. I for real ate at Arby's on the way home today.... kinda creepy RA...

I did my Tempoed 7 - went 8:46; 7:31; 7:26; 7:30; 7:20; 7:29; 8:31. Felt pretty good. Went to the running store too.. got a handfull of GUs, don't think they had 'sauce' or 'horsey sauce' flavor. I was very dissappointed in Mizunos new Wave Precisions.... they look like girl shoes... all white and purple... I can't hang w/ those.

For a long time, my preferred running shoe was a purple Saucony. But then again, I've always been a Vikings and Lakers fan, so that may have skewed my judgment.
