Morning FB. I know all about crowns. Don't know anything about Sherlock Holmes books but I like the shows. Bet books are better. Know about an injury too. Been off a month now.

nice to see you again FB! Sorry to hear you are on the DL for a bit though.

rest day for me. Just my exercise/stretchy stuff tonight. I ran 2 days in a row though. and always have to run on the wknds. The dogs insist.

I have a couple of those excessive barky dogs that Johnny would like to pepper spray. They are real sweethearts, but just very vocal when people first come over, until they see us starting to talk to the visitor. And I don't know what caused them to be like that because my two older dogs are not at all, so they didn't pick that up from them. But as soon as they discovered their voices, they must have really liked what they sounded like. and they have big dog barks too - big, loud and deep.

Sorry you're injured, FB! There's way too much of that going around these days.

Hi Tamster! I never mind barky dogs, just nippy ones. The frequent quizical looks I get from dogs when I talk back to them amuses me to no end.

KS... do you remember the Ferber exercises that I'd posted quite some time back? http://www.runninginjuryclinic.com/News/straight-from-the-hip.html I've been doing the exercises he recommends, plus the other two directions (glutes and adductors) a couple of times a week for the last year or so, and have had less problems around the hips than ever (touch wood). It's all about strengthening the small muscles around the hip and reducing the variability in the stride.

Easy 3.6 miles at lunch today, with no company. I think our running club is fizzling out.

Well the verdict is in. The bad news is humpty dumpty fell off the wall and broke himself. The good news is humpty dumpty can be fixed.

My left hip is rotated to the forward position and locked in place due to extremely tight and imbalanced muscles. She said she could put it back in place but that it wouldn't stay yet because the muscle memory would just pull it back. Gave me multiple exercise/stretches to begin to change that. Next week after insurance clears me; I will go back they will begin supervised exercise and deep muscle massage, etc. She was surprised I have last this long when she evaluated my flexibility.

I can do any exercise I want that doesn't cause pain or aggravate the injured area.

I suspect sometime in late Feb I'l feel well enough to start a small return to running.

ahhh, glad you have an answer and a plan John!

yeah, mine are just barky. But when DH takes them into town in the truck, they absolutely go OFF on other dogs they see or those stupid costumed people that advertise their businesses. I don't blame them on that one. People should not dress up as a mattress and dance on the street corner.

Good Day, Masterfuls.

KS, I am sorry you can't run for a month or whatever.. no matter how crummy my runs are, I look forward to the opportunity to improve on them. But at least you've got closure.

This week I am alternating run days with lift days because I've been so negligent to upper-body strength. The early returns suggest this may pay off with a more balanced base-building program. Today was a run day and I got in four miles. Best run I've had in over a week.

KS make sure they work on your psoas muscles That is usually the main culprit.
I ran most of the Ocala Florida half marathon course. Very rolling hills and about 78 degrees I wore my kinvaras but they are a little lightweight for me on the roads. Legs aching a little at the end. Probably a shade over 12 miles in1:32. No race this weekend but I want to get one more outside run on on vacation.

Hi all

Hope the PT helps KS....didn't you say some time back you rarely, if ever, stretch??...may want to rethink that, just sayin.

Nothin against barking dogs either, have had a bad run of 'em the past few weeks, including at work. Just tired of people sayin' my dog don't bite. Ya know, they ALL do, just some haven't done it to a person YET. I've kicked a couple of 'em too, then felt real bad about it.... just restrain your f*&^%$ng dog, that's all I'm sayin.

4 miles this afternoon. 50°F and sunshiny again.

I get a crown too, although mines next Monday.

Nice seein' ya in here Tamster....if I get some time and see your car, I'll stop your work, since we never seem to be able to get together any other way.
