Wake up everyone!

9.02 miles of hillis @ 9:14 pace (150AHR).
I almost didn't run this morning because it started to shower pretty heavily just as I was going out but then it stopped....then started up again as I was running.
I don't mind running in the rain as long as I don't start out running in the rain.... .

I'm with you on the rain thing, Peter. It wasn't raining here this morning, but I just had an indoor workout at the rec center scheduled anyway. About 45 minutes of mostly upper-body strengthening work.

I attended a local running club meeting last night and it must have given me motivation, because I sailed through my run this morning feeling great. Actually it was quite warm at my gym and I expected it to be a difficult run, but it was really good and I could have kept going if I hadn't run out of time. It takes me a while to shower, get dressed, do my makeup, dry my hair, put back on my jewelry, and drive the mile to my office. I'm on a really tight schedule in the mornings, as you can tell.

Anyway, 3 miles this morning, then 15 mins of good deep stretching. Now I'm heading out to Village Hall to pick up payroll, which will add a mile of walking.

Tomorrow morning at 6am I leave to attend a conference in Philly so I may not be posting much for a few days. On the other hand, if it's terribly boring, I may post a lot! Luckily the hotel has a "fitness center" although you never know if it's a solitary treadmill and a couple of free weights in the corner of the lobby or whatever. I'll try to keep my momentum going while I'm away. If nothing else, I can do a lot of stretching and maybe outdoor running if the weather cooperates alhtough I hate to run in strange cities if I don't know where I'm going.

Conventional wisdom told me not to get up early and run this morning since I have a ML run scheduled this afternoon, but my "gut feeling" got me out of bed for a quick, mind healing 2 miles on 4 inches of fresh snow. As my feet were gliding on the new snow...my mind was soaring like an eagle. Oh the magic of running.

No rain here, but there's snow in the forecast. So far we have received more precipitation than average in Utah this winter.

weather forecast here is boring all the way through the weekend; sunny during the days, highs in mid-60's, lows near 40f. yes!

I'll be running later today, but I just wanted to give a big shout out to all the running moms out there. You ladies amaze me with how you are able to balance home and work, and then still find the time and effort to run. I can't even imagine doing do all that, let alone actually doing it!

I like this statement from Hicham El Guerrouj that appears in the article.

“I am here to participate in this race to celebrate the pleasure of running. I am here to share the same passion that unites me with the 4500 runners who will take part.”

Hey gang, just stopping by briefly to post something I think y'all will enjoy.

There is a POTD (person of the day) thread in the PostRaceTent (PRT)
and one of my VRAA teammates was featured the other day. This young lady WON OA first woman at Omaha last year.....in her....get this....
FIRST EVER MARATHON!
http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18791
Anyway, I just thought y'all might enjoy it and if you want, could be featured yourselves. It's nice to venture out of your comfort zone once in a while.

Good news on my sore foot, I now don't think it's PF at all but a strain further up near the big toe. Will continue to baby it till it gets better.
Cardio of some sort and weights later.

TW, 'Hope your back is better soon!

15 hilly miles this morning. My calf did fine after 2 days of no running. I'll probably pay for it tommorrow. I love long runs. I get to run in all different parts of town. I really enjoyed my run today.

Great runs to all today!

Sorry about the underwear line. I'm a little stiff, so I don't know if I crossed the threshold in that run last night. I'm just glad I did it. I looked back at my log right before going to bed and figured out that my tempo pace is a minute faster than when I did this run right before Bellingham, so that was another boost to my confidence. This is the best taper I've ever had. I think we're going to the Y tonight, where I'll row for 30 minutes. Tamster, I hope you get over that cold. Mariposai, I think I know what you mean (though I don't get many chances to run in the snow).
