Good morning all.

I am procrastinating on going out and running. Mainly because I am still in VA and no body to hold me accountable, except you guys. That is why I post here early morning and say what I am planning. It kind of forces me to head out and do it. Today is an easy four mile run. Plus it is 20' colder that it was yesterday morning.

Happy running all.

Gitcherass out there, Dave. I'll be waiting.

Me? I, eh, shut off the alarm this morning and am now sitting here wrapped up in some fleece and drinking coffee, listening to the baby squirm and my husband snore over the baby monitor. I have to wake up my son for school in a minute. I'm not sure if I'll take a rest day today or get a run in. It'd be great to do the run because I don't have a lot going on at the office this morning and next week is jammed.

I'll be checking this thread, you know.

I got my run in! I changed it from an easy run to a progressive run. Four miles: 7;38 - 7:20 - 6:58 - 6:42. The legs felt good this morning so I figured I would take advantage of it. I figured after last nights workout they wouldn't be ready for a run like that this morning. I am not complaining.

Hope everyone has great success today running.

solid splits dave. rest up that shin richard, keep icing, i should know now ha. Question for you guys, my knee feels a lot better today, it's a bone bruise i'm pretty sure I'm thinking about going out to test it. It usually feels beter after a warm shower, but ha tightens back up because it gets cold again, so sould I shower to warm it up and run or just try to run on it cold?

Mornin' ya'll,

David- Nice job on the run, way to get yourself out there!
Ellen- Have a good run if you end up getitn out there today
Richard- Have a good run tonight, I'm with you....I typically always hang out in the 9:30-10:30 mpm range, but sometimes I guess I do get chased and might hit something faster....wish I could call that fast pace my easy run

I'm heading back to school today. It's about a 4 hour drive and I'll be heading out around 11 or 12ish. I'll be running 3-4 miles once I get back down to school.

Have a nice day everyone!

Hi Megs...I see you down there!

Nice run Dave, don't let yourself do that too often. Days where you feel good and just go without an easy day thrown in can have some bad effects. Take it slow tomorrow big guy.

I think I'll run the hillier route tonight, not hilly really at all, but hillier than my flat route.

Har har Richard. I still love my little Pittsville.

Keep in mind Alex I don't run every day now, I didn't run yesterday. Tomorrow will be short and easy before I get on the plane, maybe. That will make it a 4 AM run since my flight is at 6:40.

Hope you all get a good run in today.

Dave: Nice progression run. Like some of the others, I'm in awe of your speed. If I hit your slowest mile pace of 7:38, I'd better hope it was the last mile of the race cause I'd be crashin' real soon otherwise

Ellen: Hope you're able to get in a run

Richard: Hope your shins feel better. Hope the evening run goes well.

xcrunner3113: Don't have any advice for you. Hope your knee heals quickly.

Megs: Have a safe drive and a nice run today

Alex: Have a nice hilly run.

Grizzly: Nice 5 miler. Enjoy your second run.

A post-rain run this morning, and it was warm (62F) and humid. Ran 3.5 miles at a 10:50/mile pace (speedy compared to my other training runs lately).

Great work out there already today.

Dave- were you running every day before you messed up your knee? Maybe the extra rest days is all you needed.

Hope you ended up getting out there today Ellen.

If you ever need someone to chase you at that 9 mpm pace Richard- let me know cause that seems to be all the faster I do most runs these days...

xcrunner- can't say I really know a lot about that particular injury. Are you taking a good long warmup? Maybe if you start out slower and give the area a good chance to warmup before you hammer those blazing paces it'll feel better. You could also try overdressing a little to keep the area warm.

Megs- enjoy going back to school if that's possible.

Enjoy the Hilly route Alex- always seems a little more fun than the flat stuff.

Nice job on the 5 this morning Grizzly.

Got a nice easy 10 in yesterday, but I was able to move a little faster at 150 bpm than usual, so I'll take it.
Originally planned for today to be an easier day, but I have to leave right after work tomorrow, so I think I'll hit another 10 tonight, then just get my butt out of bed early enough to do 6 or so on Friday.

David--doesn't take much to motivate you, does it?

Ellen--go for the run. You'll feel better afterwards. And you know it!

Megs--that was a long winter break, wasn't it? I don't remember ours being that long. But, then again, that was a very long time ago, so maybe I'm just not remembering...

For me, I started my morning by not going anywhere. Yep. The trainer... Man I HATE the trainer. And for some reason, even though I'm working my azz off, I can't get my HR up. We're talking mostly <z1, some z1, and very little z2. I was supposed to do z3 work today...

As a reward for sitting on the bike going nowhere for an hour, I did a short trot around the neighborhood. Chilly out there this morning!!! 2m, 17:15, 8:24.

Uploaded my data and I was ready to relax with a cup of coffee. Woops, coach had me down for yoga. So, I dragged myself away from the computer and put in the yoga DVD. Poor son #3 missed the end of Camp Lazlo... I'm getting there with the yoga.

Morning, all.

Dave -- Nice run, great progression splits.

Ellen -- I'll be checking back to see how YOUR run, which I'm SURE you'll be doing, went.

Richard -- Good run later -- don't hurt yourself.

XCR -- Not sure about your injury. I can only tell you to get a good warmup in, and I always seem to run a little better, and a little more relaxed if I shower first. Good luck.

Megs -- Have a good run later. P.S. How much longer in school? Some of the smartest people I've ever known went to VT, by the way.

Alex -- Hey, which one are you in the pic?

Grizzly -- 5:00 a.m.? Keep it. Totally uncivilized. I'll take wandering's 62 degrees, though . . .

Mailbox -- Nice run yesterday -- can I ask what HRM you use? Thanks.

Me -- Probably eight later, at moderate 7:50 pace. Temps in the high 20's. Watching out for ice . . .

I know nothing about HR training. But wouldn't that be a sign of success if you are really trying and still unable to raise heart rate? I suppose it could be the opposite - but only if you were just starting training, right?

As for me, I did 2.4 miles very slowly. Knee is still not all the way back but it is improving.

I was thinking of giving y'all my ipod playlist for the day. That would only serve to illustrate how slow the run was. So, I'll just say it started out with Donald Fagan's "Tomorrow's Girls" and ended with DJ Sammy's "Sunlight."

G'mornin everybody.

Four miles in about 40 minutes. To shake things up a bit, I ran one of my courses backward. It forced me to tackle a pretty tough hill early on as a confidence booster. Thus, I can say I was 100 percent runner today. No walking.

Yippy-yah-yay.

Memo to Gov. Romney: Please have your people clean up your signs strung along Route 111 in Hudson. Legal people, if you would.

Good runs, all

Good morning everyone!
Dave- You amaze me,your slowest day is more than my fastest day!
Baba- I agree about those political signs. I don't like to see them either.
Chance & Kfuller- Our weather is quite mile compared to yours, except we might drown here in the North West.
Mailbox-I wish I could get in all those miles!
Alex-get out there and run tonight, teammate!
Ellen-Did you get a chance to run?

I ran on the treadmill this morning. Short and slow (4 miles) but I am not a morning runner and I am feeling a bit under the weather. Have a niec day everyone!

WOW so many people, so little time...quickie here.

Although Baba, I do have to say, when you say you ran one of your courses backwards I thought you meant backwards, literally. HAHA!

Anyway, if you all remember, yesterday I had to stop my lunchtime run at 7.59 miles to use the bathroom. My intention was to go down last night after work and run a little to make up the mileage (I usually run 8.22 miles at lunch).

I ended up running another hour, making the total mileage for yesterday 15.18 miles. Not bad after running this schedule since my last day off, which was last Wednesday--

Thursday - 8.40 miles, included intervals
Friday - 10.45 miles
Saturday - 8.22 miles, 12.81 miles on the elliptical also
Sunday - 18.55 miles
Monday - 8.22 miles
Tuesday - 8.22 miles, plus another 6.21 miles after work, which included intervals
Wednesday - 7.59 miles at lunch, 7.59 miles after work

Total mileage in the last 7 days: 84.32

BLAH.

Planning on not running today. We'll see how that goes given the VRAA team standings.

Tonya - I used to run 85 miles ... a month.
4BM - my HR is always much lower on the bike than running for the same perceived effort. Running is easier for me as my skinny legs complain more on the bike.
Dave - real nice progression run
Billy - lately, I've been running to Anthrax and Chevelle when on the treadmill. Gets you going...
