morning peeps.

I can't come up with anything creative this morning, so "fun" is all you get in the title.

Not fun: I'm sick. Dammit. I've got a cough, which can only get worse. GAH! Gonna call the dr when they open this morning.

Fun: we're excursing here at lunch today!

Sorry to hear that you're sick, Moe. I hope you feel better soon. I think my kiddo is sick too. She was fine when she went to bed last night, but she woke up this morning very congested and rather cranky. She was just getting up as I was leaving for work, so I hope it blew over already. But I won't know until I get a phone call from my wife...

By the way, a field trip to a bakery sounds fun.

What is it with the summer ailments?!?? My throat felt funny when I woke up this morning. Like I'm getting a cold. I'm going to try to get enough sleep so it doesn't hit at all, or at least not till after the interview.

Fun: In yesterday's mail there was an envelope from a law firm in Cleveland. Inside:

She is so queer. Kelly is my room mate from college, and at one point almost had me talked into getting a tattoo. I was going to get a shamrock - a very small 3 leaf one. But then the whole I-hate-needles thing kicked in, and I decided to spend the $ on art supplies instead.

Cute...but what is a silly band?

I didn't get out for my bike ride yesterday. No, I didn't. Two of the girls from my office came to see me and said they were going to the marine terminal for a drink. My boss was out all afternoon, it was a beautiful day, and they had some drink tickets left over from when the clippers were in town. So I said I'd go, for "one" drink. Many drinks later, and many laughs, we didn't end up coming back to the office. Had to get a drive home with one of the girls' husbands. And then I ate pizza and coconut cream pie for supper. Oh my!

Silly bands are a craze with the kids these days. It's a rubber bracelet that when relaxed forms the outline of a shape - animal, plant, whatever. On your wrist it's just sort of a wrippled rubber bracelet, you can't tell what the shape is.

Monsoon like weather last night. Whoa! We stood at the windows and watched Mother Nature's fury. It was cool. This morning was sooooo different than yesterday - WOW. Yesterday walking outside was like walking into a steam room, today it was cool and refreshing. I even put on a little jacket to walk the dog! I thought about running a few easy miles but my shin was talking to me, so I listened. I hope I don't regret not running this morning, I saw the weather forecast for the next week and it's not looking too great.

There must be something in the air because DS was congested this a.m. too. DS also stayed up all night again. WHY does he do this?? It's not only not healthy, but for him I think it's dangerous. He's much more likely to sleep walk after pulling an all-nighter and there's nobody at home today to rein him in. And it's not like I can tell him to call me if he falls asleep, y'now? So now I'm going to worry about him all day. fark. Not Fun.

Fun: This morning I stopped by C's for smootches and he had a big breakfast cooking for us - eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, the works! I'm a very lucky girl.

Funny nephew Canada vacation photos - D loved to go fast in the boat, C - notsomuch.

Good morning!

Feel better sickies!! We've been dealing with all sorts of illnesses this summer. It stinks!

Awww, your nephews are adorbs BigG! I hope your son doesn't sleep walk today! But, what a great way to start the day!!

Re Silly bands: These things have taken over in our neck of the woods. Every time a friend comes over, out come the silly bands and the trading starts. I can't fit the darn things on my wrist. Your friends must have really small wrists, Moe!

Sounds like a good time yesterday, Clare!

It is soupy out there today. Summer in Virginia, I guess!

Silly bands - heh, you'd think that people would have enough of silly band songs (Paul McCartney just had a concert in this area, so maybe that's why that popped into my head)

Big G - your nephews totally crack me up! Looks like they're having a blast even when scared. :) What part of Canada are they visiting?

Have fun Missy! BTW, did I tell you that the new Shake Shack by me (8th & 44th) has a concrete with Doughnut Plant doughnuts in it!!!! It's called Jelly’s Last Donut and is calling for you to sample it today and report back here. The honey dew told me to tell you.

Silly bands - I think my daughters have every silly band ever made - they'll wear dozens of them at the same time.

They're the equivalent of what baseball cards were for me at the same age as they and all of their friends will trade them back and forth. Last night my daughter told me that the most sought-after silly band was a multi-colored, glittery unicorn shape.

Dh saw the letter and silly band last night when he got up for work, but I was in bed so he couldn't ask me about it. When he came home this morning the first thing he said to me was:

"do you need to tell me about something?"

I had no idea what he was talking about. I guess he was telling his employees that i went out last night & he wasn't sure if I was going to show up with a tattoo or what. (I went knitting with the ladies last night.)

Knowing Kelly, and because of the formality of the letter he thought she might be joking, but maybe not. He didn't really know what to think.

He's a big favorite of mine too! And his puppeteer is a very quiet, low key dude - funny to hear all the voices he does tho. He's also Grover, Bert, Guy Smiley, Fozzy, Miss Piggy and Sam the Eagle + a bunch of smaller roles

hi all!

DD got here Sunday night and she is here for 3 whole weeks!!! So that is SUPER fun. My time at the gym is cut down, though. I was going every night at about 8 or so. Now, I have to get up and out of the house while she sleeps in order to get a workout in without cutting into my time with her.

As discussed in the run thread today -- mornings are tough. Normally when I get up early, my brain kicks in to overdrive about all the stuff I need to do at work. That makes it hard to go to the gym and . . . NOT work. But I'm trying.

Heather - haven't mentioned how nice it is to see you back in here a bit more!
