Hey, where is everyone? I stayed up late and then slept in , but that's no excuse for the rest of you.

Susan, I'm sorry to hear about your calf. Seems like good advice on yesterday's thread.

Puddinhead wanted me to tell you that she met two new dogs and made friends with both of them. Also, there were lots of interesting smells in the wind.

'Morning millbot. Just dropped by to say hi since I won't be working out until about 10 hours from now. Another day of x-training...bike, core/stretch, swim, and the all important spa soak!

tomwhite, if you even think about disappearing from here for awhile, I'm going to send SS and her "Easter Bunny" to Tennessee...capisce?

Well today I hobbled in to the gym with my leg brace and did some upper body weight work. Pushups (all I could do was 10), 100 crunches, biceps & triceps, bench presses, shoulder work, etc. It's better than nothing but I'm in a bad mood, not being able to do any sort of cardio. And now of course I can hardly eat b/c otherwise I'll get fat since I can't do anything aerobic. This sux the big one (as my rotten kids would say).

Susan, grouchy beyond belief today.

No pools around, unfortunately. Only the super-expensive gyms located 50 mins from my house have them.

My law-school daughter is a swimmer by the way, in masters competitions. She swims with a gay club as their token "breeder". It's called Team NY Aquatics and they're competing this weekend in Philly. She has fantastic shoulders from all her years in the pool. I can't do a butterfly to save my life, but I do a mean breast stroke and back stroke. I met my first husband when I was a lifeguard as a teenager.

Yuh. What Labduck said, tomwhite. In case anyone needs a reminder ...

Add my Dear Old Dad to the list of the hobbling (though not hobbled ... Crazy Man). His email:
Hey, if an 82-year-old can be resilient, we can be too. Believe me, I hate being injured, but it seems it happens to all of us active types. Go through the process of being bummed, then activate the plan and rehab. Just like what we see being done here. Yay!

Ilene, tell me you're all right, please.

Okay. Out the door.

Morning folks! No workout yet today, just stopping by to see how everyone's doing. I'll get in a run after work tonight and then throw in some leg and ab work so I can rack up more points for my Team!

Tomwhite.... Why do I have a mental picture of Jed Clampett out huntin squirrel for dinner, somewhere near the cement pond with a slingshot?? Is the slingshot the Tennessee gangsta weapon of choice??

Oh man, caramel apple pie, yum! Do you add walnuts too? I've never made pie but I sure do love to eat it!

As for the pushups, they were "real" ones. They were killers. My daughter, the law school swimmer, can do over 100. Sometimes I think that child is not related to me at all. My youngest son can also do over 100. My oldest son probably can't even do 10 of them, hahaha. Guess who takes after me? Poor kid....

It's really hot & muggy here in NY, about 85 degrees with about 80 percent humidity. My hair looks like a little strawberry blonde 'fro. It surprises me every time I look in the mirror -- who is that strange woman? hahaha
