I think ksrunr was here first. At least he showed up in the VRAA thread before I did. Anyway, good Thursday to you, whether you're here first, last, or somewhere in between.

Morning Millbot,

I thought I'd let someone else start the daily as I sometimes put the wrong date on it

7 miles this morning with 5 X 1K's imbedded and 2 min 30 rest between.
3:14; 3:44; 3:54; 3:40; 3:27 very inconsistent. Done with a partner who always goes out too hard early. Add all 5 together and you get approx. 18 flat for 5K. Goal race in Nov 18:30.

swimming in 99% humidity this morning!

This morning I did 50 crunches, and tons of upper body work -- biceps, triceps, lat pull down, low row, shoulder raises with weights, bench press, pulley row, dips, etc. No push ups - I just couldn't deal with them. Cooled down with 5 mins on the arm bike thingy.

Nothing tomorrow as I have an early meeting and then we're heading into NYC for a concert.

Good morning, everyone. As usual, Ksrunr and Millbot got an early jump on the day. Triple J, not far behind. {{sillyanklemuscle}}.

I'm resting today. My achilles is still bothering me and I just have to be smart about this. I had signed up for a 3 mile race on Sunday, but I'm even thinking that's probably not wise. I keep telling myself "a week or two now could save 2 months or more later". Wish me luck...

I may be able to get to the pool late today, but I'm not sure I can get all the pieces of my life to fall into place for that.

Good running, nordictracking, armbiking, resting, gang. Have a great one.

Morning gang.
I am going to run after work and gym too. Off tomorrow morning to Hartford.
May run before, may not.

Pro, you did a poor job of talking Pink into joining our post and pre race festivities

I'm looking forward to hearing about the East Coasters this weekend, now that it's your turn! Nice runs: KS, that may have been an inconsistent set, but it was fast. Good on ya.

Last night, I capped my day with a short pool workout: 3x100 easy, 2x100 kick, 2x250 steady, and a long slow 300m cooldown. I sure like the swimming. It feels good, most days.

Morning, Masters.
Labduck must be getting better. With increased curmudgeonliness comes a huffing puffing runner. You and Mrs. Labduck crack me up.
Is it just me or is Pro getting bossier as the taper continues?
Smokin', ksrnr.
Hey bilmot? How 'bout that Puddinface?
JJJ, watch that one. Try doing some calf raises; maybe a felt pad in the heel of your shoe.
Nice tri yesterday, Sal.

I sure like my new blue tech shirt. Lifts the spirit ... even though I didn't need help with that today. Bring on the day!

SS - I just recently remembered the calf raises and doing them, and I've worn a heel cushion for a year. After running this AM I found a very tender area on left leg about 1:00 on just below the sock line. Could been there for a year, I don't know. But massage seems to eradicate most of it. I'll keep watch.

(from the race thread)
I'd be game for a western race next year after Feb. 30-50k, downhill, hot springs and snowdrifts at the finish line, maybe? We'll have to work on PieJ.

Thank yee,
The marathon is on Sunday and I have been training for it all summer. Why do I suddenly feel like I am not ready?? My right hip flexor is tight and I am so tired.

ksrunr, you run a lot of miles and you are fast! You are going to be so ready for your 5K in November!

ksrunr, will 18:30 be a master's PR? Zoom!

Susan, good workout. What's the concert?

JJJ, . I second the calf raises. And stretches (straight leg and bent leg wall pushups). But not if it makes the pain worse.

Marie, durn Achilles. Yes, be smart.

SS, Puddinhead says hello. She doesn't care what you call her and she wants to give you a big sloppy kiss.

Ilene, Puddinhead says you need to chase some cats. That always makes her feel better.
