Good morning! Now that it's chilly in the mornings I'm having trouble getting my lazy arse out of my nice warm bed. I wimped out this morning, so haven't run yet. I plan to get in 5 miles in early afternoon.

Both my kids are home sick today. I'm headed to my office to pick up some work to bring home. (I'm just not comfortable leaving the kids home alone all day).

Did anyone notice this yet? Here's to hoping something interesting happens today .

Morning all! I did some crunches, PT exercises with 7 lb weights, stretching again last night. Tonight will be another 2 mileish run on the TM.

Johnny - how cool you are enjoying the Garmin!! I'm looking forward to Saturday.. so what is your plan, are you going to run with Tammy? I should be fine by myself, or maybe you want to run back & find me after you guys finish? or cheer me in at the end.. I'm feeling better about how I'm running even if I'm last. Will have to leave fairly quickly since DD has a bday party at 11 though.

Tamster - so are you looking for a PR? weather is looking pretty similar to last year, isn't it?

Cheryl - so sorry about your running friend. I'm still hoping for the best.

Off to work, I'll check in tonight (those filters on the internet at work are a major bummer!)

Well, someone ought to be interesting, because I have nothing to report. Storm's at the vet, and I'm waiting for answers. I have a group workout at the track tonight and may opt out of the speedwork and just loop the track under supervision instead. The last five days have included a Long run, medium run, yoga, swim, tempo run, yoga, and another swim, and I'm feeling tired and battered.

A long soak in the tubbie after last night's chat helped with some of the miscellaneous aches, but not enough to put any spring in my step. Maybe one of you got my sproink. Enjoy it while you've got it!

Sorry Sal, no sproink here either. I think someone stole mine. Hmmm, who should I blame....?

Yeah, what's up the new smilie? Are "they" trying to tell us something?

Hmmm, since there was such a nice open invitation......

Its gonna take me awhile to get caught up with everyone around here... I hope I'm up to the task!

With any luck, I'll actually get to spend some time on the elliptical today. No running for me.

Maybe I got the sproink? 11 hilly miles in chilly but gorgeous weather! I felt great and even picked up the pace for the last 2 miles. They were downhill but that still counts, right?

I included our version of "heartbreak hill" in my run. It's the big hill in the local Thanksgiving Day race. I try to run it at least once a month. How different it is alone as opposed to with 10,000 other runners!

Now off to take some Advil as my back-end is feeling those hills.

Great runs to all!

Marie, this is to warn you that mcsolar's size 11 boot is headed straight for your posterior if you wimp out on your run.

{{Storm}}

Sierra, are you injured too?

Maybe this () is a warning from the chestnuts.

They're lurking. They're waiting. They're snickering.

Bwahahahahaha.

I'm off to the home stretch of this course I'm co-teaching. Maybe I'll take my laptop along.

No, that would be too tempting.

Maybe I'll do it anyway. I'm only observing.

MustangSally begins her internal dialogue. Stay tuned, folks

Yup, now been diagnosed with bone spurs on my knee cap and on the joint under my knee cap. 3 drs have told me no running. I am NOT happy. This comes just after almost 3 years of trying to get over a nasty case of AT with almost no running at all. Thought I might finally be able to run again....... but it doesnt appear that way.

Maybe I just destined to be a cross trainer.

(trying to convince myself that I can be ok with that! )

Good morning all. Don't normally get a chance to post here during the day but here I am. Slogged 4 miles this a.m. in 24 degrees. Nice, brisk run in the dark spent daydreaming. Then hit the gym for a few upper body weights.

I had PT this morning and will hit the gym after work for a 3 mile run (slow on TM with walks interspersed). I hate it that it gets dark here by 4:30 or 5pm now. I only get to walk/run outside on weekends now.

Busy day at work today, but at least the toilets have finally been repaired. We had to schedule bathroom trips for all the staff yesterday and cover each other at the checkout and reference desks. It was a real pain. I cut down on drinking water just so I wouldn't have to pee every 2 hours.

It's a simple warning not to wear one shoe when you run. Or maybe there's a club for one-shoe runners. Probably is. Or backward one-shoe runners. Or half barefoot runners.

Anyway, everyone's welcome. Nice to see drookit lyndenrunner and welcome to sierra and shadow. If you're on the DL, you have company. Speaking of which, JJJ, what exactly is wrong with that foot? Hi, mill! Morning, Sal, Lab, Susan.

I think ksrunr should usurp my avatar 'cause I sure ain't kickin' any although ...

I think I must have been doing ab work in my sleep. Must curb competitive spirit. (Anyone seen The Competition?)

tomwhite, sorry about not getting yesterday's chaos under control. I was too lazy to decide whether the skivers and overachievers should walk the side plank or the front plank.

gin, nice run. Take care of that caboose before it has you off the rails.
runin', get out there ... because you can!
Rindaroo, nice w/os and great to see you running. Watch that Gadget Johnny doesn't pay more attention to the numbers than you and Tamster.

Big workout day for me, but I can't get in the pool until noon so I'm lolling around here. (Someone really ought to pull out the vacuum and run it around the place.)

Linda, yes, I'm looking to PR. Heck, I've PR'd in every other race I've done this year, so I might as well finish off my year strong and do it once more. Johnny is planning on running with you though in the race, so no worries there. He's going to warm up with me (hmmmm, that sounds risque doesn't it?) prior to the race though.

no running for me today. busy day on tap. working all day, then going to my moms to pick up my son - he spent the night there, I'm getting my hair cut (moms a hairdresser) - hoping for something aerodynamic , then have to go to basketball sign-ups for my son, and by the time I get home it'll be around 8-8:30 I suppose. I will do some ab work tonight though since I didn't last night. We had our son's conferences after work, then DH and I went out for mexican. by the time I got home the last thing I wanted to do was abs on a full tummy. so I sat in the hottub instead .

I had to resort to the manual for traffic sign shapes on this one. http://www.trafficsign.us/signshape.html The equilateral triangle shape is only for yield signs. So, it's obvious that the sign means "yield for shoe."

Personally, I am opposed to single shoes being out on the road alone, unless of course they are lost or stranded. And speaking as a driver, I just hope any shoe passing in front of me is moving at a good clip. If it loiters or lingers, I might put some tread marks on it.

Sierra, welcome back and hope you can get those knees back in running shape somehow. If not, just think of all the extra time you'll have for the cross-training.

Sal..some nice slow recovery outings are allowed in between the hard stuff. Coach says so. Hope they figure out Storm's problem post haste.

Gin....nice outing...warm up nine miles for the next two mile race and you'll pr for sure. Funny how you can feel so much better at the end of a run than at the beginning.

tomwhite....good HH run. Hiking on chilly mornings is a cure-all.

After a rest day yesterday, I'm chomping at the bit to lace them up. Wish I could head out right now. Tis lovely outside. I'll get in a few relaxing miles on the trails before dark, probably in the 5-7 range. Ahhhhh

Everybody else have good workouts.

SS - I've been thinking about changing my avatar and thank you for the offer of yours and I like kicking ____ but I don't think that rabbit is exactly my personality. Hello Shadow and Sierra. We were just about to launch a search party for you two. (and others)

Yield to the shoe

Good morning all, still foggy here, woke up this AM and my foot hurts, so I think I'll wait awhile before venturing out, much as I can't wait to play with my new toy.

Rinda - see you on Saturday, I plan on running with you after I get the Tamster primed and ready to go. Isn't there a name for that in a certain, ......er........ industry??
