Anyone use them? I had major cramping during last OLY tri and a friend suggested sport legs suppliments. My hydration was OK and I had an electrolyte replacement drink on the bike (hammer HEED). In spite of that, i had cramps in both calfs during the very end of swim and throughout T1 and had hamstring cramps out of T2 that plagued me through first 2 mi of the run.

I also heard benefits of magnesium supplements before bed to aid recovery... worth a try?

I had bad cramping problems years ago. I started using a calcium/magnesium/zinc supplement and the problem went away, never to return. I take it in the morning along with my regular vitamins and fish oil.

It's anecdotal and I've never discontinued using the supplement to see it the problem returned. I seem to recall it took a few weeks of taking it before I had positive results.

My dad just called me the other day and mentioned some research that he saw showing all kinds of (possible) benefits from magnesium. Particularly, in people with migraines and in increasing endurance for athletes.

Seems like it's worth a shot...

Calcium and magnesium are 2 prime things to make muscles fire. Npbut not sure if magnesium is water soluable so beware you CAN overdose on non water soluabe stuff.

I like magnesium it reduces recovery time and variosu pains but it is a laxative you don't want too much of it! I try to build it up before an event then taper off using it a few days before just in case... And its part of an overall balance you need clacium and potassium and sodium all in balance so find your balance!
